In Bellevue, Cary Kopczynski & Co. promoted Koren Copps and Brian Nielsen to project manager, and Angelia Tanamal to senior design engineer; and hired Kellie Filips as a design engineer and Joyce Valera as an administrative assistant. Copps has 13 years of structural engineering experience. She is working on the Saint Paul project in Denver, which is two mixed-use buildings; and Portland Block 136: a 15-story residential tower and five-story office building. Nielsen has 12 years of structural engineering experience. He will lead tenant improvement and retail projects. He is working on TI projects at The Bellevue Collection. Tanamal has five years of structural engineering experience. She is working on 970 Denny, a 40-story luxury apartment tower in South Lake Union. Filips returns to CKC as a design engineer. She was an engineering intern at the firm. She is working on Circa, two 35-story residential towers in Los Angeles. Valera will assist in office administration, project coordination and document preparation. CKC is a structural engineering firm, with offices also in San Francisco and Chicago.

In Seattle, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson promoted Nick Hons to associate and David Miller to senior associate. Hons worked on the Nu Skin Innovation Center in Provo, Utah. He is project manager for a San Juan Island residence. Miller worked on Grand Teton Discovery and Visitor Center and Ae'o Tower in Honolulu. Bohlin Cywinski Jackson provides architecture, planning and interior design.

Epler Hout

Seattle-based CollinsWoerman hired Lori Epler Hout as an architect and senior health care planner. Hout was an associate vice president at CannonDesign in St. Louis, where she spent 13 years. She has done campus master planning, including for University of Missouri Health System, and planning and design, including Kettering Cancer Center in Kettering, Ohio. Hout will work with principal Phil Giuntoli and senior health care planner Hugh Campbell to strengthen the health care practice. CollinsWoerman is an architecture, design and planning firm.

Seattle design firm Olson Kundig hired Ciara Cronin as communications manager. Cronin will develop and execute firm-wide communications in U.S. and international markets. She has over 10 years of experience in design and interiors. She was PR and e-communication manager at the textile design brand Chilewich in New York, and marketing manager with the Danish home furnishings company BoConcept.

HKP Architects

HKP Architects hired Raul Hirsch to lead the Seattle office. Hirsch is an associate and project architect. He has over 25 years of experience in planning and design of commercial, health care, educational and residential projects. He is working on Bellevue College's Early Learning Center and Upper Skagit Library. HKP is an architecture and design firm, with an office also in Mount Vernon.

In its Spokane office, ALSC Architects hired Rebecca Copeland as an interior designer, and Connor Nicholas and David Waddoups as architectural designers. Copeland holds a bachelor's in interior design from Virginia Tech. She is working on Gonzaga University Center for Athletic Achievement. Nicholas holds a masters of architecture from Savannah College of Art & Design. He is using his design and graphics skills on housing and community-related projects. Waddoups holds a masters in architecture from the University of Idaho. He is assisting with Spokane Community College North Spokane Corridor Interface Master Plan. ALSC provides planning and design services, with an office also in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Metrix Engineers hired Andy Mihovilovich and Andrey Streltsov as mechanical engineers. Mihovilovich holds a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from University of Washington and is supporting Mount Si High School's expansion and modernization. Streltsov has a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from UW and is supporting Black Diamond and Lake Wilderness elementary schools. Metrix is a mechanical engineering firm in Renton.

Cairncross & Hempelmann hired Jeff Nelson to lead the Trademark & Copyright team. He has worked for over 10 years on intellectual property matters and Internet issues for emerging companies and large corporations at Miller Nash Graham & Dunn and Perkins Coie.

F5 Networks has hired Peter Brant as SVP of North America sales and David Helfer as VP of worldwide channels. F5 focuses on applications, traffic management and security.
