Medical Teams International in Portland named Martha Newsome president and CEO, replacing Jeff Pinneo, who retired earlier this year. Newsome spent 20 years with World Vision International and led its Global Sustainable Health team. She has spent 30 years working on international health.

HFF brokers Hard Rock sale

HFF facilitated the sale of 114 Pike St., which houses Hard Rock Cafe. Urban Visions sold the 92-year-old structure to KLM Equities for $20.75 million. Gerry Rohm, Nicholas Kucha, Nick Kassab and Danny Reddin led the HFF sales team.

Jameson joins Kidder Mathews

Kidder Mathews added Nancy Jameson as a property manager in South Seattle. Jameson will mange 1.2 million square feet of industrial and office space. She has more than nine years of experience, and she has managed eight industrial properties totaling more than 1 million square feet; 11 office properties totaling 1.8 million square feet; and three portfolios totaling more than 2 million square feet. Kidder Mathews has more than 550 employees and 14 offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada and Arizona.

Renters Warehouse expands here

Renters Warehouse, a property management company that helps people rent out their houses, expanded into Seattle last year and now manages about 50 local properties. The Bloomington, Minnesota-based company said its goal is to manage 4,000 houses here by 2019. It will use Seattle as a launch point for a West Coast expansion, with Portland and Spokane as the next likely markets. Since the end of 2014, Renters Warehouse has grown from 15 offices in nine states to 32 offices in 17 states. It manages almost 15,000 houses.

Point B hires David Derr

Point B Inc. named David Derr principal in charge of property development, with a focus on health care. Derr has more than 40 years of experience in health care development in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. Point B is based in Seattle and does development, management consulting and venture investment.

Seattle-based Caron Architecture hired Thomas Eng as a project manager, Jin Kang as a senior designer, Hollis Rendleman as an interior designer, Ty Henderson as marketing manager, and Seth Good, Elizabeth Stonecypher, Gabriel Morales and Rasha Younan as designers. Eng is an architect with over 20 years of project management experience. He is working on student housing in Reno. Kang is an architect with over 15 years of experience on retail, office, hospitality and education projects. He is working on a mixed-use development in Seattle. Rendleman has over 10 years of experience designing interiors for retail and residential clients. She is working on 4700 Brooklyn Ave. N.E., a student housing project in Seattle. Henderson has over 10 years of marketing and graphic design experience. Good has five years of design experience and is working on the prototype for “townhouse-style” single-family housing to be constructed on numerous sites near the University of Washington. Stonecypher has over five years of design experience and is working on student housing in Reno. Morales has over seven years of international design experience on residential, commercial, retail and interiors projects. He is working on a dining hall at a Tumwater retreat center. Younan has over 14 years of design experience. She is a graduate of Egypt's Mansoura University, and is working on a Des Moines mixed-use project. Caron provides pre-development/master planning, architecture, interior design and space planning services.

In Kirkland, structural engineering firm Dibble Engineers hired Justin Wang, Kyle Umlauf and Caitlin Wilhelm as project engineers, and Michael McCann as a project manager. Wang has done residential and commercial design. Umlauf holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Washington, and interned at Dibble. Wilhelm has three years of experience in retail, industrial and essential facility structural design. McCann has over 35 years of experience as an engineering consultant on commercial and multifamily projects. He previously owned McCann Engineering.

In Portland, DOWA-IBI Group promoted Jim Fitzpatrick and Marc Nordean to associate principal, and said co-founders Norm Dull and John Weekes have retired. Principals Steve Olson, Amy Friendy, Dan Hess and Karina Ruiz will continue to lead the firm. Fitzpatrick has 20 years of experience as an architect/project manager. He has managed in-house staff and coordination with sub-consultants on education projects. Nordean has over 15 years of experience with architectural design and planning. DOWA-IBI Group focuses on K-12 projects in Oregon, Washington and California.

Rose has been at KING 5 since 2000, working in local and national sales for KING 5 and KONG-TV, and as director of sales until becoming vice president and station manager in 2014. He also worked in New York with Capital Cities and for the Chris-Craft ABC affiliate in Salt Lake City.
