Seattle-based Hart Crowser named David Winter chief executive officer and Jeff Wagner chief operating officer. In 26 years with the firm, Winter has led expansions and acquisitions. As a senior engineer, he has managed geotechnical and environmental projects in the U.S., Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America, from a luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi to Seattle buildings. Wagner will manage day-to-day operations and oversee core business units. In his 33 years at Hart Crowser, he has been responsible for geotechnical design of hundreds of projects, including Bellevue Square, instrumentation for the SR-99 tunnel, and reclamation of abandoned mines. Hart Crowser is an engineering, science and consulting firm.



Seattle landscape architecture firm Gustafson Guthrie Nichol hired Tiffany Megumi Gerdes, Rikerrious Geter and Ernest Haines as design interns. Gerdes holds a bachelor's in studio art and art history from Wesleyan University, and is pursuing a master's in landscape architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. Geter is a LEED green associate and graduate of the University of Georgia College of Environment and Design. Haines is working on his master of landscape architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design, where he plans to pursue a concurrent degree in master of design. In Tacoma, Landau Associates promoted Ben Lee to senior project engineer in training. In Olympia, it promoted Beth Roberts to data specialist. In Spokane, the firm promoted Ryan Reich to senior project geologist. In Portland, it promoted Colette Gaona to senior scientist. Lee provides groundwater flow modeling, well design and rehabilitation, and hydrogeologic field work. Roberts manages environmental data using EQuIS software. Reich has over 12 years of experience in environmental consulting on site assessments for public and private clients. Gaona has eight years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on remediation and source investigations. Edmonds-based Landau Associates provides geotechnical and environmental engineering, remediation, and permitting and compliance services.


SCJ Alliance hired Lauren Galante as a landscape designer and Grace Bergman as a landscape architect in the Seattle landscape architecture studio, known as Project Groundwork. Galante has three years of experience in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, including work on Spokane's Huntington Park. Bergman has 11 years of experience, with projects that include restoration plans for Washington state parks. SCJ also has offices in Vancouver, Lacey, Wenatchee and Denver.



OAC Services promoted Glen Lyons to project engineer and Stacy Shewell and Tansy Hansen to senior project manager. Lyons has over 13 years of construction industry experience, with skills in document control, contract management, design review, AutoCAD, SEPA, permitting and process improvement. Shewell provides project management and support services for clients. She managed facilities for the city of Spokane, overseeing maintenance, operations, and capital facilities planning and procurement. Hansen has over a decade of industry experience working on K-12 construction projects.

Mark Parrott joined Stantec's Fairbanks office as a senior mechanical engineer. He has over 12 years of in-state experience, including on commercial and public buildings, utilities and power plant support systems. At Stantec, he focuses on military and utility projects, and has worked on projects for the city of Homer. Stantec provides engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management and project economics.
Paul Pitre, who has been dean of Washington State University North Puget Sound at Everett since 2014, was named chancellor of the Everett campus. The program has gone from 23 mechanical engineering students in 2012 to nearly 200 students in five programs today. Pitre also manages Everett University Center, which offers undergraduate transfer-programs for students to finish their degrees.
React Mobile, a personal safety platform, said Seattle University is using React Dispatch Console, software that helps quickly identify incidents, shorten response times and document events. People use a mobile panic button called React Sidekick to issue an alert for emergency assistance even if their phone screen is locked or the phone is out of reach.
Art with Heart founder Steffanie Lorig will retire as interim chief executive officer after 20 years, and Heidi Durham will become the new CEO. The Seattle-based organization helps children heal through creative pursuits. Durham has worked on brand strategy at Starbucks, and worked in Ethiopia for Right to Play and for IslandWood, a Seattle-based nonprofit.
