In Seattle, NBBJ promoted Juli Cook to partner and Josie Briggs, Ross Leventhal, Dave Owsiany and Andrea Vanecko to principal. Swenson Say Faget hired Lori DeBoer as a project engineer, and Aaron Lieberman and Emily Preston as staff engineers in Seattle, and promoted Francesca Renouard, Bethany Brown and Joanna Johnson to project engineers. DeBoer has 10 years of structural engineering experience. She is working on FX McRory's renovation in Seattle. Lieberman is working with the residential teams, including on Blackbird Apartments in Redmond. Preston is a University of Texas at Austin graduate and worked for a structural engineering firm there. Her projects include Penrose Hotel renovation and addition in Walla Walla. Renouard holds a master's of civil engineering from UC Berkeley, and is working on a seismic evaluation for St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Medina. Brown is working on multifamily projects, including Boylston Flats in Seattle. Johnson holds a master's in structural engineering from the University of Washington. She is working on an office building in Seattle. Swenson Say Faget is a structural engineering firm, with an office also in Tacoma.

Seattle-based Quantum Consulting Engineers hired Samantha Taylor as a staff engineer. Taylor holds a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Quantum provides structural, seismic and value engineering.

In Portland, SRG Partnership promoted Lisa Petterson to principal. Petterson has focused on green building projects for 28 years. She is a project manager and a daylighting/sustainable design specialist. She is managing the Gonzaga Integrated Science and Engineering Building project.

The Blueline Group

The Blueline Group hired Caleb Skjervem as a construction inspector/engineer. He has a bachelor's in civil engineering and a master's in engineering management from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He works on public works projects. Blueline provides civil engineering and land use planning services.

Homeward Pet

Woodinville-based Homeward Pet Adoption Center has named Gary Rubin the shelter's new executive director. He has more than 30 years in fund development and marketing at KEXP Public Radio, The Seattle Symphony and KCTS Public Television.

Skagit Bank

Skagit Bank named Tony Warner vice president and branch manager in Arlington. He has 15 years experience. Skagit Bank has offices in Skagit, Snohomish, Whatcom and King counties.

Williams

Perkins Coie named James F. Williams the new managing partner of the Seattle office. He succeeds Nancy Williams, who became interim Seattle managing partner when Fred Rivera left in March to become executive vice president and general counsel of the Seattle Mariners. V. L. Woolston and Mack H. Shultz have been named chair and vice chair, respectively, of the Product Liability practice. Williams joined Perkins Coie in 1993. Woolston and Shultz succeed Bruce Campbell, who led the Product Liability practice since 2014.

Marten Law

Alexa Shasteen has joined Marten Law firm in the Portland office. Her practice focuses on environmental, natural resources and land use litigation, as well as environmental and product compliance and permitting. She clerked for the Hon. Joel H. Bolger of the Alaska Supreme Court and the Hon. William Jay Riley of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

The Bellevue-based company also promoted Ryan Meno to senior project manager; Mario Cuadros, Jered Cottell and Art Salas to senior project engineers; Michael Cunningham to project engineer; Ray Olyer and Jim Forsman to foreman; Keith Hasenoehrl to assistant foreman; and Kristin Troxel to HR manager. Gonzalez was a superintendent at IntraCorp Real Estate and Widewaters, and has 15 years of construction experience. Walker was a seasonal energy assistance program specialist at HopeLink and a marketing event assistant at Applenty. Morran worked at Rafn from 1996 to 2003 and most recently was construction manager at Savers. Meno joined Rafn in 1998 as an intern. Cuadros has been with Rafn for over 10 years. Cottell has been with the company since 2012. Salas has worked at Rafn for 17 years. Cunningham came to Rafn in 2013 as a foreman. Olyer is a 20-plus-year veteran at Rafn. Forsman has been with the company for two years. Hasenoehrl started at Rafn in 2016. Troxel joined Rafn in 2015 as an HR generalist.

Seattle-based Schuchart promoted Jessica Congdon to marketing coordinator, and Tim Bowen and Joe Ramos to superintendents. Congdon has more than 10 years of marketing and sales experience. Bowen was hired as a carpenter foreman 4.5 years ago and Ramos was hired in 2012 as a carpenter.


Construction scholarships

The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties has $30,000 in scholarships available to sophomores, juniors and seniors studying residential construction-related programs at college, trade and technical schools. Eligible schools are Green River College, Seattle Central College (Wood Technology Center), Renton Technical College (Construction Center of Excellence), North Seattle Community College, Shoreline Community College, Edmonds Community College, University of Washington and Washington State University.
