Leafly, a Seattle-based cannabis technology company, named startup executive Chris Jeffery chief executive officer. Jeffery co-founded OrderUp, an online and mobile food delivery service that was acquired by Groupon in 2015. Consumers can use Leafly to learn more about cannabis, discover products and brands, and find retailers through a website and mobile app.
The Seattle Times promoted Alan Fisco to president effective January, 2018. Fisco has been executive vice president and chief financial officer since February, 2016. He has worked at The Times for 25 years, and served as president on an informal basis for the past five months.
Opus Bank said John Norawong has joined as senior managing director of commercial banking in the Pacific Northwest. Norawong is a 24-year banking veteran. He was with Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union as head of commercial lending, and also worked at BBVA Compass and Bank of the West.
Hermanson Co. hired Soph Davenberry as test, adjust and balance (TAB) technician and Kelcy Ayres as TAB apprentice. Both are focusing on the company's Owner Direct Solutions Department and “quick hit” service needs. Davenberry has more than 20 years of industry expertise, with a focus in smoke control, specialty test equipment and systems assessments. Ayres started in the trades out of high school and has been working in commercial HVAC controls for the past nine years. Both are members of Local 66 of the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation (SMART) union.
PCL Construction Services donated $75,000 for BIM education at Washington State University's School of Design and Construction. WSU's new BIM initiative will provide equipment, software and updated classroom spaces for students to work with programs like Revit, Navis Works, P6 and AutoCAD.

The Port of Everett Commission appointed retired Boeing supply chain manager Bruce Fingarson to fill the vacant District 1 seat. Fingarson will be sworn in on Nov. 7. The appointment lasts until the port election in 2019, when anyone can run for the position.
Kent Keller, professor and fellow of the Geological Society of America, has been named director of the School of the Environment at Washington State University. He has been a WSU researcher and teacher since 1988. The school has undergraduate programs in environmental science, wildlife ecology, forestry and earth science. Classes are taught at four WSU campuses.

Bay Alarm of Concord, California said it has acquired Evergreen Security of Everett, one of the largest security companies in the Puget Sound area, with more than 2,300 home and business customers. Evergreen has been family-owned and operated since 1978. Matt Westphal, co-president of Bay Alarm, said his family-owned firm has 16 branch locations and has been in business for 70 years, with over 140,000 residential and commercial customers.
Seattle-based American Seafoods Group said Kevin McMenimen is now chief financial officer. His experience has ranged from Pillsbury and General Mills to small businesses such as Michael Foods and Flagstone Foods. He was CFO of Performance Optics, a global manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses.
Ryan Companies hired industry veteran Marc Gearhart as vice president of real estate for the Northwest division. Previously with Holland Partner Group, he will oversee site selection, due diligence, financing, entitlements, lease/sale negotiations and asset management.
Local Internet service providor Colocation Northwest said it has leased of up to seven megawatts of mission-critical IT capacity at Centeris South Hill, a data center facility near Tacoma. Centeris South Hill is owned by Bellevue-based Centeris, which is part of the Benaroya Company. The South Hill facility has a 50-megawatt onsite substation providing dedicated, expandable, green power and dense fiber connectivity. In a statement, Colocation Northwest CEO Stephen Milton said, “We look forward to bringing our vision for scalable, fully managed colocation solutions and integration to a new level.” Larry Benaroya said, “We look forward to providing the redundancy, robust security and hyper-scalability to support Colocation Northwest's commitment to operational excellence and growth.”

Two months after opening its 92-unit SAMM Apartments, at 22845 S.E. First Place near Sammamish Town Center, SeaLevel Properties says the apartments are 50 percent leased. The 15,000 square feet of commercial space has been leased by Bright Horizons Family Solutions daycare center, which opens on Sunday. SeaLevel's John Shaw said in a statement, “We anticipate that SAMM will be fully leased before year-end, and look forward to offering great new homes for more future residents while space is still available.”

For Position 1, business owner and kung fu and lion dance instructor David Leong is running against development executive Kevin Man. Running unopposed for Position 2 is contractor Russ Williams. Running unopposed for Position 3 is businessman and previous ISRD board member Tom Cheng.
