Green

In Seattle, First Sound Bank appointed Christopher Green as vice president, private banker and cash management officer. Green has 15 years of financial services experience, most recently as a commercial banking officer at Columbia Bank. First Sound Bank was founded in 2004 and caters to businesses, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, professionals and service companies.

Corr Cronin

Attorney Benjamin Byers joined Seattle law firm Corr Cronin. Byers' practice focuses on employment, health care, contracts, intellectual property, personal injury, toxic torts and real estate law. He clerked for Justice Perry B. Inos on the Supreme Court of the Northern Mariana Islands.

City of Tacoma

Daniel Key joined Tacoma as information technology director. Key served in a similar role at Seattle City Light. He is a graduate of Evergreen State College.

EPA

Four entities from Washington won Energy Star Partner of the Year awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy: Bentall Kennedy of Seattle, Engie Insight of Spokane, New Tradition Homes of Vancouver and Northwest Energy Efficiency Council of Seattle. The awards will be presented April 20 in Washington, D.C.

WeWork to sponsor veterans here

The shared office firm WeWork announced a new program called WeWork Veterans in Residence for 10 vets or their spouses. The six-month WeWork membership also includes support from partner Bunker Labs, a nonprofit veterans support group. Discounted WeWork memberships will be available at the end of the residency program. The program launched in Denver last year, and is expanding to 10 cities this year, including Seattle. WeWork hopes to serve 1,000 vets over the next five years.

UW names department for Runstads

Jon and Judy Runstad established Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington in 2002. The UW created its own Department of Real Estate last year, within the College of Built Environments. Now the UW board of regents voted to rebrand the department as the Runstad Department of Real Estate. John Schaufelberger, dean of the College of Built Environments, said in a statement, “They have been leaders not only in the real estate and law communities but in the broader Seattle civic community.... They have helped to build, lead and sustain a premier real estate program.” Last year the department added Arthur Acolin, Gregg Colburn, Pike Oliver, Rebecca Walter and James Young to the faculty, which is led by professor Simon Stevenson.

Vision 2040 nominations due May 29

Puget Sound Regional Council is accepting nominations for its annual Vision 2040 Awards through May 29. PSRC honors businesses, local governments and nonprofits for helping to realize the regional growth, economic and transportation strategy. Past winners include WSU Everett, Plaza Roberto Maestas, ORCA Lift, Cushman Trail and Clear Creek Wetland Restoration. Details and info at: psrc.org.

Jason Wall chairs NWMLS board

Northwest Multiple Listing Service said Jason Wall will chair its board of directors. He has been a broker at Lake & Co. Real Estate for over 20 years. Joining him on the board are Keith C. Bruce of Sound Point Real Estate, Stuart Heath of Bellmark Real Estate, David Maider of Windermere Real Estate M2, Mike Larson of Allen Realtors and Keith Wells of Windermere Real Estate Southeast.

Transwestern names Maturi new VP

Transwestern hired industry veteran Craig Maturi as VP in charge of all Puget Sound operations. He makes the move from YOMA Strategic Holdings Ltd., where he had extensive experience in Asian markets.
