UiPath

Kahlon

UiPath, a robotic process automation software company, opened a product development center in Bellevue focusing on AI. Param Kahlon, a former Microsoft and SAP Labs manager, was appointed chief product officer in Bellevue. Kahlon will also lead product teams in Bangalore and Bucharest. UiPath is based in New York City and has offices in 14 countries.

Seattle Center

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced Robert Nellams, who was set to retire in May, will remain as director of Seattle Center. Nellams has been director since 2006, and spent more than 20 years at Seattle Center. Marshall Foster, director of the Office of the Waterfront, will work with Nellams on renovating Seattle Center Arena and Memorial Stadium, as well as pedestrian and transportation initiatives.

UW

UW athletic director Jennifer Smith Cohen won the Carolyn Helman Lichtenberg Crest Award from Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women. Cohen is the only female athletic director in the Pac-12 Conference. The award recognizes leadership and volunteer service.

KeyBank

KeyBank donated over $1.9 million to area nonprofits, including $300,000 to the Consulting and Business Development Center at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business and another $300,000 to UW Tacoma's Opportunity Academy, which supports UWT students. KeyBank is based in Cleveland. Carol Nelson is Pacific regional sales executive and Seattle market president.

In Seattle, Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted Coriann Presser and Mark Presleigh to senior project managers and Mike Dunahoe to project manager. It also hired Heather Hannay as marketing specialist, Betsy Williams as operations assistant, Faith Johnson as project engineer and Allison Parker as senior project engineer. Presser interned at Lewis in 2005 and joined the firm in 2006. She will continue to manage the Building Cure project for Seattle Children's Research Institute. Presleigh joined Lewis in 2014 and has focused on projects for Martin Selig Real Estate. Dunahoe joined the firm in 2016. He has six years of construction experience and is a licensed professional engineer. Hannay has a background in graphics and marketing with residential real estate. Williams worked in the HVAC industry for 20 years, and studied project management at South Seattle Community College. Johnson interned with Lewis in 2017 and holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Parker has over 20 years of construction experience. She is working on Margaret Mead Elementary in Sammamish.

Forma Construction Co. hired Liz Wasson Coleman as business development director. Coleman has more than 13 years of experience in the local AEC industry, most recently as marketing manager at Ankrom Moisan Architects. Forma has offices in Olympia and Seattle.





Owen Equipment

Owen Equipment added Heil products and parts to its dealer network in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Heil designs and makes bodies for garbage trucks. Owen is servicing Heil trucks with three bays in Kent and six in Portland.

Juneau

Seattle Public Schools picked Denise Juneau as the district's new superintendent. Juneau was superintendent of public instruction in Montana, taught in North Dakota and Montana schools, and holds a juris doctorate from the University of Montana School of Law. The school board will vote April 25 on a final contract, and Juneau will start July 1.

The law firm of Short Cressman & Burgess closed its doors April 1 and 10 of its attorneys joined Ogden Murphy Wallace in Seattle. Paul Dayton, former managing partner at SCB, is now a board member at OMW. Don Black chairs OMW. Each firm has more than 100 years of history.

Bruce Pinkleton was named dean of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. Pinkleton served as interim dean since January 2016. He joined WSU in 1993 as an assistant professor.









Motif Seattle

Motif Seattle has new people on the team that oversees the rooftop bar and restaurant Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails. The food and beverage director is Max Messmer, executive chef is Laura Simpson-Eng and bar manager is Chris Blakeslee. They join restaurant manager Tatyana Konyakhina and sous chef Chris Balaoro.
