Mobile communications company Kymeta appointed Paul Mattear as vice president of sales and business development, Scott Glass as sales director, and Rash Jhanjee as vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent. All three joined the Redmond-based company over the summer. Mattear has over 27 years of experience in government and commercial satellite communications. Glass has nearly 30 years of experience in sales and business development for network solutions. Jhanjee has more than 20 years of experience in global business development and sales.
In Seattle, Todd D. Sims and John A. Fichthorn joined Maven's board of directors. Sims is senior vice president of digital strategy at Anschutz Entertainment Group, where he leads its ticketing business, AXS. Fichthorn is head of alternative investments at B. Riley Capital Management and co-founded Dialectic Capital Management. Maven is an expert-driven group media network platform.
Visit Seattle was selected to hold the 13th Annual U.S.–China Tourism Leadership Summit in Seattle. The multi-day event will be held in September 2019 and is expected to draw more than 200 attendees from both nations. Visit Seattle, a nonprofit, is the destination marketing organization for Seattle and King County.







Bellevue-based Powell Construction Co. promoted Mike Brehm to president, Jeff Lawson to vice president, Vern Turrell to general superintendent, and Jessica Warner and Casey Carson to project managers. The general contractor also hired Darren Califano as project manager and Kate Brehm as project engineer. Mike Brehm has been leading Powell for over 20 years as vice president. Lawson is a 25-year construction professional with a background in all phases of construction.

Seattle-based Know Labs hired Dr. James Anderson Jr. as medical director and chair of its medical, scientific and regulatory affairs advisory board. Anderson is a diabetologist and endocrinologist who has been in military medicine and the pharmaceutical industry for more than 40 years. Know Labs directs structured light or radio waves through substances to capture molecular signatures used for identification, authentication and diagnosis.
Matthew Potter joined Seattle-based JND Legal Administration as senior strategic advisor. Potter has nearly 20 years of legal administration experience with class action settlements, regulatory agency enforcement actions and urgent initiatives such as data breach responses. He is based in the Minneapolis area. JND specializes in mass tort settlements.
Add3 bought Point It. Both are Seattle-based digital marketing agencies. Financial terms were not disclosed. Add3 specializes in search, social, creative and programmatic display advertising. It gains 15 employees with the acquisition, giving it a staff of more than 50 in its Capitol Hill offices.
Aspen Dental opened an office at 401 Valley Mall Parkway in East Wenatchee. Dr. Bruce Wilcox leads the practice that has an on-site denture lab and provides preventive care, general dentistry and restoration. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says there is a shortage of dentists in Douglas County.
