Seattle Metro Chamber

Allison

Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce hired Ashton Allison to direct business retention and expansion services, which were recently added when the chamber became an associate development organization for King County. Allison has over 16 years of economic development experience, most recently as a consultant for TIP Strategies in Texas. He will work with King County and its 39 jurisdictions to assess business development opportunities.







Fisher Phillips

Che

National labor and employment law firm Fisher Phillips added attorney Sieu Che to its Seattle office. Che specializes in labor and employment law. He comes from the Seattle office of Jackson Lewis. Fisher Phillips has more than 370 attorneys in 32 offices.









DarkLight

Riley

Shawn Riley, chief data officer and chief information security officer at DarkLight, is a new member of Forbes Technology Council, an invitation-only community of technology executives. Riley will collaborate with other local leaders in a private forum through the council. Bellevue-based DarkLight develops cybersecurity solutions using artificial intelligence.








Kymeta

Mobile communications network company Kymeta announced Dr. Nathan Kundtz will step down as CEO this month but continue as a technical advisor. Kymeta President and CFO Marc Stolzman will be interim CEO while the Redmond company's board searches for a replacement.

King County Council

Metropolitan King County Council confirmed Anita Khandelwal as director of the Department of Public Defense. Khandelwal had been interim director since summer. She was deputy director of law and policy prior to that and joined the department in 2015.

In Seattle, Hewitt hired Rosa Folla, Ning Yang, Brittany Coudriet and Allison Ross as architecture staff members and Dale Pusey as a project accountant. Folla is a project manager with 18 years of architectural design experience in residential, commercial, civic and educational projects. She is managing commercial and retail projects in Ballard, Eastgate and Redmond. Yang has a master of architecture degree from Virginia Tech University, and is assisting with design and permitting of a high rise condo tower at 1516 Second Ave. Coudriet is a University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate, and did a City Year in Seattle through AmeriCorps, working on event planning and coaching elementary students. Ross has a master of architecture degree from Montana State University, and is assisting with architectural design on retail and public utilities projects. Pusey has an associate degree in accounting from Florida State University, and does project accounting and invoicing. Hewitt provides architecture, landscape architecture and urban design.

Environmental Science Associates

In Seattle, Environmental Science Associates hired Paul Schlenger as a principal associate and Abby Hook as a senior managing associate in the biological resources and land management group. Schlenger is a fisheries and restoration ecologist with over 22 years of experience for clients that include Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Army Corps of Engineers. Hook is a hydrologist and conservation planner with over 17 years of experience leading planning and ecosystem recovery projects. Her work has focused on Puget Sound watersheds, and she is versed in salmon recovery planning. ESA is an environmental services firm.



Associated Earth Sciences

Brown

In Kirkland, Associated Earth Sciences hired Tim Brown as an associate hydrogeologist. Brown has 22 years of experience on environmental investigation and remediation projects in the Northwest. That includes regulatory compliance and negotiations; development of innovative investigation, remedial approaches and hazardous waste minimization strategies; and managing environmental programs.









Zervas Architects

Ballew

Bellingham-based Zervas Architects hired Jed Ballew as a project manager. Ballew has 19 years of experience on projects, including historic preservation, multifamily, tenant improvement and education. He previously practiced architecture in Tulsa. Zervas provides architecture and interior design.






Wilson Engineering

Wurden-Foster

In Bellingham, Wilson Engineering hired civil engineer Kenna Wurden-Foster to support projects involving wastewater treatment systems and facility design, with an emphasis on MBR systems. Wurden-Foster has a master's in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Washington. Wilson provides civil and structural engineering and land and hydrographic surveying.








DLR Group

In Seattle, DLR Group appointed to principal Jim Beckett, Erica Loynd and Rico Quirindongo (all architecture) and Matt Virkler (creative services leader). In Portland, DLR appointed to principal Robert Esau (architecture) and Justin Stranzl (business development). The firm provides architecture, engineering, interiors, planning and building optimization.
