Portland-based Provenance Hotels announced that President Bashar Wali on May 29 will step down to pursue other ventures. Wali will be replaced by Katherine Durant, the company's current CEO and chair, and founder Gordon Sondland will assume the role of chair. Wali has been with Provenance for 15 years and will continue as a senior advisor. The company also promoted 20-year veteran Klaudio Simic to senior vice president of operations, and hired Ernest Glidden as CFO and Ralph Aruzza as chief marketing officer. Glidden was a senior vice president of operations finance for Caesars Entertainment. Aruzza was executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer at Belmond. Provenance owns, develops and manages independent hotels, with a portfolio of 14 properties in Portland; Seattle; Tacoma; Palm Springs, California; New Orleans; Nashville; Boston; and Stillwater, Minnesota.
National discount retailer Dollar General opened its first store in Washington state: at 4 N. Jacobson Road in Cathlamet, Wahkiakum County. The company said it plans to open additional stores in Washington and has six stores under construction. The DJC reported last year that Dollar General was building a store in Centralia, Lewis County, and was seeking permits for a store in Ocean Shores, Grays Harbor County.
ThePlateFund raised another $2 million to help in-need restaurant workers in King County with one-time payments of $500. The fund has now raised $6 million to aid 12,000 workers who have lost jobs and income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund was created by the Schultz Family Foundation in partnership with #allinseattle, Seattle Foundation and UpTogether. Donations can be made at http://www.theplatefund.com.



The Seattle office of Rider Levett Bucknall recently saw Kevin Mitchell step in to oversee the Pacific Northwest region as director of operations and executive vice president. Mitchell previously managed RLB's Waikoloa and Maui offices in Hawaii. He has over 30 years of experience in cost estimating, lender services, litigation support, and project and program management. RLB also promoted Craig Colligan to resident manager and John Perry to associate in the Seattle office. Colligan was a senior project manager for nearly five years at RLB, starting in the Honolulu office. Perry was a cost manager for over 20 years in Seattle and came to RLB when it merged with The Robinson Co. He has over 40 years of construction experience. RLB provides construction cost and project management services.

Renton-based Rock Project Management Services hired Jean Duven as project manager. Duven was a project manager at Vanir Construction Management. RPM provides owner's representative services to public and private clients throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.

Vancouver-based ZoomInfo appointed Keith Enright to its board. Enright is chief privacy officer at Google. He has been a data privacy expert for nearly 20 years, with stints at Macy's, Limited Brands and IBM Business Consulting Services. ZoomInfo sells access to its database of business people and companies to sales, marketing and recruiting professionals.
Seattle-based Washington Federal Bank says it has accepted more than 5,000 requests for funding through the CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program. These SBA loans are designed to keep small businesses viable and their employees paid. As of Tuesday, the bank had approved over $480 million in Paycheck Protection Loans with another $195 million in the application process.
San Francisco-based Frontline Foods has expanded with chapters in 41 cities, including Seattle. The nonprofit was created to organize meal deliveries from local restaurants to health care workers on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic. In mere weeks, the national program has raised over $1.6 million and partnered with over 125 restaurants to serve over 50 hospitals.
