Andersen

Seattle-based AVM Biotechnology, a clinical stage company developing cancer drug AVM0703, announced the appointment of Brian Andersen as chief commercial officer and Pearl Chan as chief financial officer. They will help drive the company towards anticipated commercialization in 2023. Andersen brings over 20 years of commercial experience as a corporate executive, and has experience building companies, launching new products, developing specialty pharmacy distribution networks with patient support programs, as well as generating and executing marketing plans. He has spent most of his career in the hospital, orphan disease and oncology areas of the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, cofounding Vidara Therapeutics and working for companies such as Pharmacia, Dendreon and Horizon Therapeutics. Chan has 25 years of financial leadership experience in the tech industry having built high-performing teams as CFO at PicMonkey and NetMotion Software. These additions to the leadership team are timed with the near completion of the safety portion of a clinical trial in treating “no-option” Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma/Leukemia patients.

Luvera Law Firm

Luvera Law Firm has hired Jack Gellatly as an associate. Gellatly will support case work across the firm's personal injury practice areas. Gellatly joins Luvera Law Firm after earning his law degree from the University of California Berkeley School of Law. During his time there, Gellatly served as a summer associate in the Washington, D.C., office of a large national law firm, primarily supporting the commercial litigation practice. He also worked as an extern in the King County Prosecuting Attorney's office. In school, Gellatly was actively involved with the student-led Political and Election Empowerment Project, a pro bono public service organization geared towards voting rights, voting accessibility and democracy reform for historically marginalized and oppressed populations. Gellatly also worked as an intern for Congressman Adam Smith in his district office in Renton, and interned for Senator Patty Murray in Washington, D.C. Seattle-based Luvera Law Firm handles a variety of personal injury cases, including serious injuries and wrongful death caused by commercial and vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, product defects, construction site accidents, corporate wrongdoing, and insurance misconduct.

PGA of America

The PGA of America is expanding the PGA Career Services Department by adding four new recruitment specialists around the United States, including Caleb Hung in Seattle. Hung will support a PGA career services team in the area. His core responsibilities will be to cultivate the next generation of PGA members and golf industry executives by educating them on the opportunities in the golf industry. This includes promoting the pathway to PGA membership and its benefits, as well as the lineup of nearly 2 million jobs that encompass all sectors of the $84.1 billion golf industry. Hung's team will work closely with corporations, universities, high schools, PGA partners and other related organizations and associations to communicate both PGA of America and golf industry opportunities. Hung began working as an assistant golf professional in 2008 at Fairwood Golf and Country Club in Renton, before earning PGA membership in 2013. In 2015, he moved to Overlake Golf and Country Club in Bellevue, where he worked as an assistant professional for three years before transitioning into the role of membership and communications director.

The Northwest Multiple Listing Service recently announced its new chair, veteran broker Stuart Heath, who owns Bellmark Real Estate in Bellevue. The 17-member board he oversees has an elected membership with staggered terms. New to the board are Nicole Bascomb, of Bascomb Real Estate Group in Kent; Martha Hunt, of Adolphsen Real Estate in Centralia; Jon Rockwood, of Rockwood Realty in Ferndale; and Todd Shively, of Coldwell Banker Bain.

SKCR names new public face

Seattle King County Realtors announced that it has filled the hole left by the retirement of its director of governmental and public affairs, David Crowell, who recently closed out his 33-year career with SKCR. In his place, moving from Tacoma-Pierce County Association of Realtors, is Taylor Shanaman. SKCR CEO Russ Hokanson said in a statement, “Taylor's experience in the Realtor association, and her knowledge of housing policy in the Northwest, are a boon to our organization. She understands our culture of advocacy, and works well in collaboration with our members.”

Cary Kopczynski & Company promoted Dmitriy Penzin to project engineer, Rachel Buob to senior administrative assistant, and Victor Hernandez to marketing coordinator in the Bellevue office. Penzin is working on several large multifamily projects including Legacy at Redmond Square, Kinect in Sacramento, CA, and Stoneway Apartments in Seattle. He is also assisting with several other CKC high-rise multifamily towers.

Buob manages operational, administrative, and construction administration tasks for many CKC projects. In addition, she handles executive assistant tasks for several CKC Principals and coordinates activities with CKC's Chicago office. Hernandez prepares and manages proposals and company marketing material, manages CKC's digital and social media marketing, and participates in the company's business development and mainstream marketing initiatives.

Olson Kundig announced multiple promotions within the firm. Justin Helmbrecht and Jordan Leppert have been promoted to principal, while Megan Adams, Clay Anderson, Jeff Busby, Amanda Chenoweth, and Claudia Maggiani have been promoted to associate. Helmbrecht's experience includes a range of project types and scales, including residential, cultural and mixeduse. Leppert has worked on a variety of residential, hospitality, cultural and civic projects in locations around the world, spanning North America, Europe and Asia. Adams has worked primarily on interior design for high-end residential, hospitality and restaurant projects across Asia and the United States.

Anderson's experience spans single-family residential, multi-family residential, installations and cultural projects around the world. He is interested in the intersection of craft and material innovation, and has been instrumental in the development of many of the firm's public design installations, including ICECUBE and Homebase. Busby has a diverse range of experience, including private homes, hospitality, civic, athletic, infrastructure, urban mixed-use and multi-family residential projects. Chenoweth works closely with teams on project types ranging from high-end residential to hospitality and commercial interiors, informed by her architecture background. She works to create bespoke interior environments. Maggiani is a senior architect with extensive experience in hospitality, sports venues, commercial and mixed-use projects, master planning and facility assessment.

SCJ Alliance welcomed Daniel Clark as a senior construction manager to their Construction Management Group. Clark brings over 26 years of experience working in every aspect of management and construction from professional services manager to resident engineer to inspector. He has had the opportunity to serve many agencies throughout the region including the City of Sumner, City of Pacific, City of Tukwila, City of Bellevue, City of Puyallup, Thurston County, City of Federal Way, City of Renton, SDOT, City of Seattle, City of Des Moines, Lakehaven Water District, Kitsap County, City of Bremerton, and City of Maple Valley. He has worked on many private, commercial projects as well.

Stantec

Stantec announced the addition of two new hires to the firm's buildings engineering group and one promotion, all based out of the Lynnwood area. James Spencer has been hired as an electrical designer and will be working with Studio 5. With six years of experience, he most notably worked on a mixed-use residential high rise and 12-story office core and shell in the Seattle area. Spencer is currently leading a fuels laboratory upgrade at Manchester Naval Base and a security station upgrade at the Richland Federal Building.

Jeff Aguiling has been hired as a BIM technician and will be working with Stantec's ICT studio. Aguiling recently joined Stantec from Affiliated Engineers. He has led projects with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Seattle Children's Hospital, and Harrison Hospital. He's been a part of the drafting and BIM management of mechanical and electrical engineering projects focusing on healthcare, science, and technology building projects.

Brian Hoang has been promoted to project manager with several years' experience as an electrical project engineer and having recently joined Stantec in October. Holding his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington - Bothell, Hoang has formerly worked on projects just as the King County Maintenance Facility and Bellevue, Lynnwood, and Redmond Light Rail projects as lead designer. He's currently working on the Bangor Data Center Renovation, Joint Base Lewis-McChord Madigan Army Medical Center Surgery Clinic Renovation, and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Pump-well HVAC Upgrade.

Portland-based Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) announced that Cristi Dayton has been promoted to second vice president of retirement plans strategy and business improvement. In her new role, Dayton is responsible for the business improvement functions in retirement plans including project management, systems support and learning and development. Dayton joined The Standard in 1991, beginning her 30-year career in employee benefits as a premium processor. She also held positions as a disability claims analyst, national accounts claims consultant and later a leadership role in long term disability claims. Dayton then shifted her focus to technology and project management as senior director of information technology solutions and later as leader of the retirement plans program management office. The Standard also announced that Doug Stearns has been promoted to second vice president of application and solution delivery strategic partner management. Stearns will lead management of The Standard's strategic information technology partners who provide application life-cycle management of business-critical systems and deliver solutions for portfolio initiatives. Stearns joined The Standard in 1993 and has held various leadership roles with responsibility for IT infrastructure, solutions and engineering as well as operations. Most recently, he was senior director of IT application solutions delivery.

AuthenticID, a provider of identity proofing and fraud prevention solutions for large enterprises, announced it is establishing a Donor Advised Fund with Seattle Foundation with an initial donation of $250,000 to support non-profit organizations across the country in their efforts to combat human trafficking. Seattle Foundation will manage the distribution of the donation to certified non-profits who are partners in the new All for Humanity Alliance (A4H), a movement established in 2021 by AuthenticID to raise awareness and help fight human trafficking and exploitation. AuthenticID is a purpose-driven company that fights organized crime to stop fraud with its identity proofing and fraud detection technology. Enlightened to the fact that almost all organized crime operations are also involved in human trafficking, the company embarked on a special initiative in 2021, establishing A4H.
