IRG Physical & Hand Therapy

IRG Physical Therapy — Bellevue and IRG Pacific Handworks — Bellevue have joined together as IRG Physical & Hand Therapy – Bellevue. Physical therapy, hand therapy and personal training services are available at the clinic's location in the Commons Professional Center at 1200 112th Ave. N.E. , Suite C-186, Bellevue. Physical and hand therapists at IRG Physical & Hand Therapy — Bellevue work to develop individualized treatment plans for each patient's unique goals. 22NW Fund

Seattle-based hedge fund company, 22NW Fund, the largest shareholder of DIRTT Environmental Solutions with ownership of approximately 19% of outstanding shares, announced that all seven of 22NW's nominees were elected to DIRTT's board of directors at the company's 2022 Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders held April 26. Elected to the board are Aron English, Cory Mitchell, Ken Sanders, Douglas Edwards, Mary Garden, Scott Robinson and Scott Ryan.

Daybreak Oil and Gas

Daybreak Oil and Gas, a Washington corporation, announced it will hold a special shareholder meeting May 20 to consider a proposal to approve the Equity Exchange Agreement between Daybreak, Reabold California, a California limited liability company and Gaelic Resources, a private company incorporated in the Isle of Man and the 100% owner of Reabold. This proposal will require 66.67% approval of all the shareholders entitled to vote. Daybreak Oil and Gas is an independent crude oil and natural gas company currently engaged in the exploration, development and production of onshore crude oil and natural gas in the United States. The company is headquartered in Spokane Valley, with an operations office in Friendswood, Texas. Daybreak owns a 3-D seismic survey that encompasses 20,000 acres over 32 square miles with approximately 6,500 acres under lease in the San Joaquin Valley of California. James Westmoreland is president and chief executive officer.

Allium Financial, a financial management firm serving business owners, retirement plan sponsors, individuals, families, endowments and non-profit foundations, announced Scott Thompson has joined the firm's leadership team as its chief investment officer. Thompson brings 25 years of experience in alternative investments from his previous roles as a partner, portfolio manager and CIO at Common Sense Investment Management and Concentric Wealth Advisors. In his role at Allium, Thompson will lead the firm's investment committee as well as its investment research, portfolio management and client relations. Founded in 2016 in Portland, Allium provides comprehensive financial services including investment management, estate planning, gifting, taxes, insurance and more.

BCRA welcomed two new employees. Sue Roulinski has joined the firm from B+H Architects as a senior level interior designer who brings nearly a decade of workplace and retail design experience. She will have the opportunity support the retail and healthcare markets at BCRA's Seattle office.

Marcy Naismith is a senior level interior design and medical planning associate and former principal from Ankrom Moisan Architects who brings 18 years of experience and leadership to BCRA. She primarily worked in the healthcare market with extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient healthcare. At BCRA, she will continue to help grow and support the healthcare market and will be based out of Portland.

Farallon Consulting recently welcomed David Waymire to its Irvine, California office and Carla Mauger to its Portland office. Waymire is an air quality scientist with over 25 years of specialized expertise in air quality modeling, impact analysis, risk management, emissions quantification, and air quality permitting. His experience includes application, development, and interpretation of meteorological models; health risk assessments for dozens of industrial facilities, including some of the largest facilities considered under California's AB2588 Air Toxics program; air quality impact assessments for environmental impact reports; and consequence analysis of accidental releases.

Mauger brings with her over 30 years' experience as an environmental manager with a demonstrated ability to apply deep multi-media regulatory, advanced technical, and business management expertise to achieve organizational strategic, operational, and sustainability goals. She develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive environmental management systems, policies, and procedures that result in sustained environmental regulatory compliance. Her areas of expertise include the management of hazardous materials, solid and hazardous wastes, and industrial wastewater; emergency response; process improvement; and employee training.

Helix Design Group, Inc. welcomed four new team members, Ellie Behzad, Marlene Druker, Chelsea McConnell and Wendy Burdett. Behzad, is an architect with over 15 years of experience both in the US and abroad. She has dedicated six years of her professional life to K-12 designs. She is also an advocate of green building. This interest encouraged her to take a year certification degree at the University of Washington in integrated lighting and daylighting design.

Druker has over 20 years of experience and is a registered architect in the state of Washington. One of her first projects is the building that now houses Dunagan Irish Pub and Brewery. She brings to Helix her past experience of work on multiple custom homes, both remodels and new construction, including her own. Her interest in urban design has led her to volunteering on her local main street association's design committee and writing for the advocacy group Strong Towns. McConnell joined Helix with 5 years of experience in the graphic design field with a primary focus in the development of branded business collateral, wall wraps, signage, print/digital advertising, and a variety of many other supporting graphics. For Helix, she has recently completed work for the Pendleton Car Wash exterior elevations, as well as developed branded signage and design of the monument sign concepts for the same project. She is a graduate of the Cornish College of the Arts and received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

Burdett recently joined the Helix marketing team coming from the residential side of design and marketing. She worked in that area for over 20 years serving clients in the Home Building Industry all across the country. For Helix, she will work closely with the marketing Director to help coordinate and execute a broad range of marketing tasks including RFQ/RFP responses, identifying potential projects and supporting social media content and outreach.

Mitch Romero has joined Parametrix as a senior construction manager based in Puyallup. He has 30 years of experience in architecture, project management, and construction management. Romero comes to Parametrix from OAC Services where he was a senior director. His recent project experience includes serving as primary manager for a biotech manufacturing company in Wilsonville, OR and project manager for the Tokeland, WA Tsunami Tower. He is highly experienced in Washington State alternative delivery methods. His general contractor/construction manager projects include major renovation and infrastructure upgrades for the Spokane International Airport. He has also delivered 13 public school projects.

Previously, Romero served as Foreign Service Construction Engineer for the United States Department of State. He used traditional design build to deliver diplomatic facilities in Brazil, Afghanistan, NATO Brussels, Nigeria, and Djibouti. Prior to that he was an architect and program manager for Heery/CBRE working for Seattle Schools, Oak Harbor Schools, Lake Washington School District, and a series of projects for the United States Department of Homeland Security

Olympia-based Thomas Architecture Studios announced the promotion of senior project managers Josh Gobel and Tom Rieger, to associate principal. Since joining TAS in 2016, Gobel has been involved in the design of several commercial, residential, and mixed-use, multifamily projects in the Olympia and the South Puget Sound region. Completed projects include The Lurana, a mixed-use waterfront development, and The Easterly - both located in the Olympia downtown area. Gobel is currently overseeing the design and construction of Market Flats and Malt House - two mixed-use infill projects - as well as Old 99, an infill project with 48 residential units targeting workforce and affordable housing. He is concurrently overseeing the design of West Bay Yards, a destination waterfront development with nearly 500 residential units spread throughout five buildings with an esplanade and large public plaza.

Gobel serves on the American Institution of Architects Southwest Chapter as board president, is past-president for Olympia Downtown Alliance, and is Lead Mentor for the TAS Career-Connected Mentoring Program through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Washington. He holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design from Montana State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon.

Rieger joined TAS in 2014 and has successfully completed a wide range of project types, including private development, schools, government, and non-profit. Completed projects include Briggs Village Master Plan Amendment, Thurston First Bank/Franklin Lofts, 321 Lofts, Annie's Flats, The Views on Fifth, and most recently the design for the AIA/SWW award winning History & Nature Center at Brewery Park in Tumwater. He is currently working on the new Agricultural Business and Innovation Park in Tenino for Thurston Economic Development Council and the Hands On Children's Museum Phase II design. Rieger also leads many of TAS' corporate office building projects for clients such as Port of Olympia, Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters, and Cement Masons and Plasterers Local 528 Headquarters & Training Center. Rieger is currently serving the second of two consecutive terms as past president for AIASWW, is president-elect at AIA Washington Council, and serves on the Board for Olympia Film Society. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University.

University of Puget Sound

Following an extensive national search, University of Puget Sound has named Kimberly Kvaal executive vice president and chief financial officer effective July 5, 2022. Kvaal comes to Puget Sound from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, where she served as vice president for finance and administration and chief financial officer leading strategic initiatives and overseeing all aspects of the finance and business functions of the university. She has more than 24 years of experience in higher education and has a national reputation for her knowledge of academic business models. Kvaal holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder, an MBA from Regis University, and an EdD in organizational change and leadership from the University of Southern California. Her research focuses on increasing organizational capacity for financial sustainability at colleges and universities. In 2016, the National Association of College and University Business Officers presented Kvaal with the Daniel D. Robinson Award for outstanding contributions to the field of college and university accounting and reporting. Kvaal served as associate vice president for accounting and business services and a part-time faculty member at the University of San Francisco from 2006 to 2014, and currently teaches in St. Edward's University Doctorate in Educational Leadership program.
