The Pasco Police Community Service Building has opened at 525 N. Third Ave. in Pasco.
The one-story, 38,000-square-foot building cost almost $9 million to design, build and furnish. It houses police headquarters, community meeting spaces and the city’s information technology equipment and some of that department’s personnel.
The simple steel-framed building uses low-maintenance tilt-up concrete and Corten panels as cladding. Large precast concrete blocks were used on the exterior to give the building a civic feel.
An open office design, common with small firms and corporations, was used to create a more efficient layout.
Owner: City of Pasco
Design architect: Hansen|Design
Architect of record: Terence Thornhill Architect
