An entity related to Pathfinder Partners LLC, a San Diego-based real estate equity firm, sold The Pines at Totem Lake to a local LLC managed by John Backus for $8.78 million. That's $302,587 per unit for the 29 apartments, a record for Kirkland. Steven Chattin and Mitchell Belcher of CBRE represented the seller. Chattin said small complexes are attractive to investors. The Pines is at 12411 N.E. Totem Lake Way, just south of the EvergreenHealth main campus and adjacent to Totem Lake Mall.
Jones Lang LaSalle hired Trevor Clark as a managing director in the Seattle office. Clark will be on the downtown Seattle leasing team. Clark was with Broderick Group. Jones Lang LaSalle has offices in Seattle and Bellevue, and employs more than 300 people in the region.
NAIOP's annual Night of the Stars awards gala is at 6 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. The black tie event honors the top projects, developers and deals of the year. NAIOP's annual Community Enhancement Project will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Northwest Center for Kids, 2919 First Ave. W. on Queen Anne. Volunteers will work on planting trees, fixing windows, painting and improving lighting. NAIOP has raised more than $30,000 for the school, and an estimated 300 people are expected to attend. Participants can register on site beginning at 7:30 a.m. NAIOP's Community Enhancement program is more than 20 years old.
