One of those intriguing big-picture moments flashed at the Port of Seattle Commission meeting Tuesday. Were the idea carried out -- and it was clear it won't be for many years -- the effect on the Sodo neighborhood would be dramatic.
Commissioners and staff members were hashing over the effects that rebuilding the Alaskan Way Viaduct would have on port operations, when the discussion shifted into rumination mode.
