Hundreds of graduate students are poking around Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood this spring to come up with a long-term redevelopment plan for the area.
The Urban Land Institute chose the community for the annual Gerald D. Hines Student Urban Design Competition. The challenge is to prepare a practical plan for 33 acres around the Mount Baker light rail station. For the competition, ULI has come up with a hypothetical situation: a local family has significant landholdings in the area.
