THERE'S STILL TIME TO APPEAL YOUR PROPERTY TAXES

The woman was on the telephone, relegated to that limbo-like destination known as "will you please hold?" When you dial a public agency, you have to spend time at this place, just like when you fly east you'll stop in Denver.

"I know I only have until July 1 to appeal next year's taxes," said the woman, a sales account executive. "But I still haven't received it in the mail -- unless I missed it."
