There is an absolute demand for home offices by today's potential buyers, but the custom comforts should be left to the person who will be using it. The traditional home is changing and people are more proactive in their preparation, especially for professional tasks and caregiving - needs that have historically been met outside the family home.
"Today's buyers are looking for the space of a home office," said Jim Hebert, president of Hebert Research, a Bellevue-based firm, "but I would caution home sellers about doing any expensive remodeling themselves.
