If there was any splurging that occurred in 2002, chances are consumers took a shot at a bigger or better home – or a larger mortgage.
Housing remained one of the few bright lights in the past year’s economy, allowing buyers and sellers a narrow avenue of confidence in confusing, times. Most of the folks who bought a home - or pulled money out of their present one - showed that they felt the risk of taking on housing debt was absolutely better than the rest of the selections on the menu.
