KeyCorp

Ben Shandrow, special credits manager for KeyBank of Washington, has been named special credits manager for Seattle-headquartered KeyCorp's Northwest Region, comprised of banks and affiliates in Alaska, Oregon, and Washington. Shandrow began his career in banking in 1976, and since then has held numerous positions, such as commercial loan officer, assistant branch manager and assistant manager of special credits. He was named KeyBank of Washington special credits manager in January 1993.

DeLaunay Communications Inc.

Seattle-based DeLaunay Communications Inc. (DCI), a marketing communications firm, has added Tod Steward, account manager, and Nikkol Nagle, account coordinator. Steward joined DCI from KYMA-TV/KSWT-TV, Yuma, Ariz., where he worked as sports director and news anchor. He was previously sports director and news anchor at KJUD-TV, Juneau, Alaska. Nagle joined DCI from RE/MAX Pacific Northwest where she worked as public relations administrator responsible for developing their newsletter, news media relations and production projects.

Holland America Line

International chef and Seattle restaurateur Reiner Greubel has joined Holland America Line as executive chef. Greubel has more than 40 years of worldwide culinary experience. He recently owned and operated Seattle's Reiner's Restaurant, which was named Best Restaurant by The Seattle Times and The Tacoma Tribune in 1991. Prior to that, he was food consultant for Opreyland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn., and executive chef for Joe Baum & Associates, where he coordinated the opening of four new restaurants, including the Hudson River Club, based in New York. He also has served as executive chef for Westin Hotels, Lee Gardens Hotel in Hong Kong and The Oriental Hotel, and The Montien Hotel, both in Bangkok, Thailand.

Swedish Health Services

Seattle-based Swedish Health Services has hired Albert J. Alvarez as executive director of the Foundations - the fund-raising arm of the organization- and Lisa Anderson as vice president of human resources. Alvarez comes to Swedish with more than 20 years of experience in fund raising, development, marketing and public relations. For the past three years, he was president of university relations for Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Prior to that, Alvarez served in top-level executive positions at Northridge Hospital Foundation in Northridge, Calif. Anderson comes to Swedish from Careline Inc. of Seattle, where she has been director of human resources since 1992. She also has served as director of human resources management for Safeco Properties Inc., in Seattle.

Qpoint announces 3 new locations

Qpoint International announced the signing of three new franchises. The offices are to be located in Lacey (Qpoint Capital), Richland (Qpoint Tri-Cities) and Portland (Mortgage Masters). Qpoint now has seven locations since the approval by the State of Washington to sell franchises in November of 1994.

Dino Rossi has been named vice president and senior associate of Scott Real Estate Investments Inc. Rossi, a Seattle University graduate, has over 12 years of experience in commercial real estate.

Pacific Real Estate

Jeff Durrell recently joined Pacific Real Estate Partners, Inc. as a broker. He will be responsible for leasing and sales transactions in the Eastside and Seattle office market.

The Norman Company

Two chief engineers at the Norman Company, Scott Pierce and Chris Ulrich, were granted Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) designations from the Association of Facilities Engineers. Pierce is a chief engineer for a portfolio of suburban office properties. Ulrich is chief engineer for the Columbia Seafirst Center. Coldwell Banker Bain offers free public panel On Feb. 1, Coldwell Banker Bain will offer a free public panel discussion, titled "Are your housing needs changing in 1996." The panelist will include, Sherry Ellis of Washington Federal Savings, discussing the all-in-one construction loan and Denny Andrews of Great Western Mortgage, discussing FHA, VA and conventional loans; and builders Steve Holzknecht of Four Suns Builders with Sandy and Len McAdams of Renovations of Kirkland. Coldwell Banker Bain Realtors Myra Gamburg and Michell Ebeling will also be on the panel. The discussion will take place at the Kirkland Public Library, 308 Kirkland Avenue. Tully's comes to Queen Anne

Tully's Coffee, Seattle's second largest company-owned gourmet coffee retailer, will be opening a new store atop Queen Anne in February. The 1,500 square foot building will offer gourmet coffee beverages, custom roasted whole bean coffees, baked goods and Tullinis, Italian-style panini sandwiches.

RMLS moves headquarters

RMLS recently signed a lease for 4,100 square feet of space in the Lloyd Tower, 825 NE Multnomah, Portland. The larger space was necessary to handle the increase in membership gained since the multiple listing service was formed in 1991. The new headquarters features a training facility and consolidates all of the RMLS technology in one location. RMLS provides listing information, statistics and other professional assistance to over 6,000 members in the Portland metropolitan area.

Rural communities conference

The 1996 RCAC Conference, Building Rural Communities: Models for the Future is a training and networking event for rural development and preservation professionals; local community organizers and local, county, state and federal officials. The conference features technical training in housing, environmental facility development, operation and maintenance, nonprofit agency management, program development and lending, leveraging and alternative financing. The main conference, in North Shore Lake Tahoe will be two and one-half days ($295), April 22 through April 24. There will also be a pre-conference workshop on April 21, on drinking water issues in small communities.
