Mike Jansen and Paul Tollner, vice presidents for Tecton Corporation, were both recently awarded the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
Bruce H. Dodge has been named to the Seattle Investment Properties Division of Grubb & Ellis. Dodge represents corporate and investment clients nationally and in the Pacific Northwest area. Dodge joins the company as a senior vice president. Prior to joining the Seattle office, he was senior vice president and district manager of Grubb & Ellis' Tampa office, following an eight year brokerage career in the Grubb & Ellis' Denver office where he was Rookie of the Year, a Top 5 Performer and earned the Company's highest title as a senior marking consultant.
Winmar Company, Inc. announced that Garden Botanika, a Northwest company specializing in naturally-based skin and body care products, will locate a 1,500 square foot store at Redmond Town Center when the shopping center opens next summer. According to Randy Kyte, Winmar senior vice president and director of development, "This is the second major Northwest retailer with a national reputation to select Redmond Town Center for a new store location. Like Eddie Bauer, whom Winmar announced recently, Garden Botanika is well respected in the retail community for its unique products, creative merchandising and a proven track record. Garden Botanika joins the growing list of nationally recognized retailers which includes Eddie Bauer, Cucina! Cucina! Italian Cafe, and Cineplex Odeon at Redmond Town Center.

Leann Hopwood has been named general manager of SuperMall of the Great Northwest. Hopwood will direct and supervise all aspects of the mall, including operations, marketing, leasing and personnel. SuperMall of the Great Northwest is located midway between Seattle and Tacoma, at the major freeway interchange of State Highways 167 and 18.

Bob Macht of Bradley Scott Commercial Real Estate located in Bremerton was recently approved as a Certified Manager of Community Association (CMCA) by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers. The CMCA certification recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated fundamental knowledge in the area of community association management.
Steven S. O'Dell, CB Commercial senior vice president and senior managing officer of brokerage services, has taken over management duties of the Bellevue office of CB Commercial Real Estate Group, Inc. He is responsible for brokerage services operations including business development, hiring, training, and career development for sales professionals. O'Dell has been with CB Commercial for 17 years in positions in Denver, Stockton and Seattle. Eric Shaffer has joined CB Commercial's Seattle office. Schaffer has been a financial services analyst with CB Commercial in the San Francisco Downtown office since April 1995. The expansion of financial service to the Northwest Region is aimed at providing additional on-site services to clients served by the office, retail, industrial, apartment, and investment sales professionals in the Seattle, Bellevue, Tukwila, and Portland offices.

PITTSBURGH -- A conference called "Brownfields '96: A New Environmental Frontier" is scheduled for Sept. 20 and 21 at the Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Anyone with an interest in the cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated properties is welcome to attend. The conference has been designed with government officials, tribal leaders, builders, plant managers, cleanup companies, developers, bankers, lenders, contractors, real estate brokers and venture capitalists in mind. Speakers at the conference will describe various private and public financing tools that are available, as well as ways to streamline site assessments and get sites back into production more quickly. The conference is sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency, the American Bar Association, the International City/County Managers Association and the National Religious Partnership for the Environment.
