Olympic

Chris Edwards has joined Olympic Associates' construction management services division. Some project experience includes: San Francisco International Airport, Ala Moana Shopping Center and Anaheim Sports Stadium. Areas of expertise include: construction management, scheduling, cost estimating, partnering and value engineering. Maile Furshpan joins Olympic as an administrative coordinator. She has over 25 years experience in office management and accounting procedures. Keith Omori brings over 15 years experience as project engineer, superintendent and special projects coordinator. He is particularly experienced with design/build construction of trophy properties exclusively appointed to fit and individual owner's personal tastes and requirements. Saleem Raza joins the staff as project engineer with 9 years experience in civil and structural design. Raza has excellent experience working with transportation-related projects and provides scheduling, cost estimating and quality control services. John Rumsey brings to Olympic over 25 years experience as contractor quality control and field operations manager. Rumsey started his construction career with his father's construction company more than 30 years ago. He was president and owner when the company built the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Battery Street Tunnel. Recent projects include a $60 million Medical Facility Improvement and a $130 million Mall Redevelopment. Areas of expertise include: connstruction management, scheduling, cost estimating, partnering and value engineering. James Thompson joins Olympic with over 10 years construction experience. He has 4 years experience with the Corps of Engineers and 6 years experience in private industry as project engineer, project manager, operations manager and superintendent. Jim provides construction planning, design and cost estimating.

Museum of History and Industry

The Museum of History and Industry has elected the following people to its Board of Trustees: Vinson Cole, Seattle Opera tenor; Beverly Freeman, The Citicorp Private Bank; Christian Fulgham, Midori, Inc.; Blanca Harrison, Seattle Pacific Realty, Inc.; Carol James, community volunteer; Richard James, The Boeing Company; and Jay McCarthy, Cascade Hydro-Air. Brent Reys, from Seafirst Bank, will serve as a Board of Trustees intern.

The Arcand Company

The Arcand Company has promoted Scott Hubbard to vice president of finance and Tracy Kennedy to controller. Hubbard will oversee financial and tax reporting, portfolio structuring, investor relations and information systems management functions. Kennedy will manage the finance and tax functions for the company. The Arcand Company is a full-service real estate investment firm specializing in Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit programs. The company's headquarters are in Portland.

CB Commercial

Geoff Pendergast has been hired by CB Commercial Real Estate Group as a sales assistant in the leasing of industrial properties. He will focus on the Kent Valley market. Pendergast was previously the president of GGP Food Sales Company. He will be located in Tukwila.

The Schuster Group

The Schuster Group, Inc. has acquired the Woodgate Shopping Center located in Woodinville. The shopping center consists of approximately 55,000 square feet of retail and commercial space and is located at 13300 NE 175th Street. Mark Schuster is president of The Schuster Group and the manager of Woodgate Associates, LLC., a group of investors that acquired the property. The Schuster Group is a privately-held property management and acquisition firm.

Norris, Beggs & Simpson

Norris, Beggs & Simpson's Bellevue Property Management Department has received several awards from the Institute of Real Estate Management's (IREM) Western Washington Chapter #27 for 1995. The awards include Accredited Management Organization (AMO) of the Year, Catherine Munson as Certified Property Manager (CPM) of the Year and Maija Mueller as CPM Candidate of the Year. IREM is a professional association affiliated with the National Association of Realtors.

Windermere Real Estate

Windermere Real Estate has added six sales associates. Heather Eul joins the Redmond office. Curtis Schuster, Gina Mazzaferro and Timothy Cassill have all joined Windermere-Bellevue Commons. Joan Morioka will be working at Windermere-Northwest, and Kent Treen has joined Windermere's Federal Way office.

The Woodmark Hotel

The Woodmark Hotel on Lake Washington has been selected as a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, a collection of 102 independent luxury properties across the world. Preferred recognizes properties for "unparalleled distinction," in accommodations, service and cuisine. All properties are required to pass unannounced annual inspections that cover a 100-page checklist with 1,500 criteria ranging from the number of minutes required for check-in, to the number of seconds it takes to receive a greeting at the restaurant. The Woodmark Hotel on Lake Washington, located at Carillon Point in Kirkland, is the only hotel on the shores of Lake Washington.
