Reed McClure

Ross Jacobson, Greg Montgomery, and Gail Stargardter have become shareholders in Reed McClure, a Seattle-based law firm. Jacobson will continue his practice in business and transactional law, and health care matters. Montgomery will continue his practice in commercial litigation with an emphasis on real estate, trust and estate, and contract litigation. Stargardter will continue her practice in all areas of insurance coverage and litigation.

Sheraton Seattle

The Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers received a "Stars of the Industry" award from the American Hotel and Motel Association. The Sheraton Seattle was one of 11 hotels selected from properties across the United States. The Sheraton was presented with an award in the Ongoing Special Events category for their annual Gingerbread Village fundraiser.

Opus Northwest

Thomas B. Parsons has joined Opus Northwest LLC as real estate director. He will be responsible for office and industrial real estate projects in the Puget Sound region, where Opus is developing over 3 million square feet. Parsons previously was vice president of marketing with Fisher Properties. He has been active in real estate since 1985.

CB Richard Ellis

David Gurry has been promoted to sales assistant in the Seattle office of CB Richard Ellis, Inc. (formerly CB Commercial Real Estate Group). He will work with Dan Dahl on sales and leasing of office properties in north Seattle. Gurry joined CB as a market researcher one year ago.

Continental Mortgage

Jeff Ballaine has been promoted to commercial loan officer in the Income Property Finance Department at Continental Mortgage Company. He was a senior underwriter at Continental.

Lynnwood Mortgage

Mark Serebrin has been named loan officer in the Montlake Terrace branch of Lynnwood Mortgage Corporation. A 14-year veteran of mortgage, escrow, title and real estate, Serebrin previously worked for Group One Mortgage as a loan officer.

John L. Scott

Six new sales agents have joined the Redmond office of John L. Scott Real Estate. They are Steve McBeth, Cheryl Lewis, John Mowbray, Randi Bosley, Carla Moore and Brenda Walters. The Redmond office of John L. Scott specializes in residential waterfront properties and community association waterfront lots.

Windermere

In the Queen Anne office of Windermere Real Estate, agent assistant Kimber Parker has earned her real estate sales associate license. In the Bellevue Windermere Relocation office, Griffyn O'Donnell has joined the staff as a referral counselor. Bruce Rawlinson has joined the Woodinville office as an associate broker in commercial and investment real estate. Three other Windermere offices have hired new sales agents. In Redmond, Joel J. Dugan and Leslie A. Spencer are the newcomers. The Northwest office has added Myung Soon-Kweon and Kathleen Marden. And in the Oak Tree office, Kirk Levandoski has joined the staff after nine years with MacPherson's Real Estate.

NAIOP breakfast

Bob Wallace will discuss cooperation among Seattle and Eastside communities at the May membership breakfast of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. Wallace is the first person ever to chair both the Bellevue and Greater Seattle Chambers of Commerce. He is also managing partner of Wallace Properties Group and some 40 other associated corporate and partnership entities involved in commercial real estate investment and development in the state. First Citizen banquet

Jack Benaroya, philanthropist and retired real estate mogul, will be honored as the 60th First Citizen of Seattle-King County at a banquet hosted by the Seattle-King County Association of Realtors. Benaroya is being honored for "exemplifying the spirit of community service," according to Jean Miller of the First Citizen Committee. His contributions include financial support, time and leadership for numerous local organizations and institutions. The First Citizen Banquet will be held Thursday, June 4, in the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers. The event begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7. Koll Development purchased

The Koll Development Co., formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of Koll Real Estate Group, has been purchased by Donald M. Koll, Richard M. Ortwein and New York-based NorthStar Capital Investment Corp. Donald Koll established the company in 1962. It was acquired in 1993 by The Bolsa Chica Co., the predecessor of Koll Real Estate Group (KREG). As a result of the transaction, KREG will change its name to California Coastal Communities, Inc. and focus on residential development and construction. NorthStar is a REIT that has invested roughly $460 million of equity in various deals this year. Further NorthStar capital will fuel Koll Development Co.'s expansion into new U.S. markets as well as overseas.

Pinnacle Realty

Seattle-based Pinnacle Realty Management Co. has offered brokerage services for just three years. But in the first quarter of this year, the firm's 26 brokers handled $409 million in transactions, for more than 4 million square feet of commercial space and almost 1,300 multifamily units. Greg Beckel, Pinnacle's executive vice president of brokerage, credits the success to a strong national market and a seasoned brokerage team.

Coldwell Banker Bain, Cendant

Coldwell Banker Bain, a Seattle-area residential real estate firm, has joined entered an exclusive arrangement with Cendant Mobility to represent that firm in the area. Cendant is the largest relocation company in the world, having worked with more than 100,000 transferring employees in 1997. Joseph Spencer, COO for Coldwell Banker Bain, said the alliance will result in about 3,000 referrals per year from Cendant.

Eagle Ridge

Eagle Ridge, a master-planned community in southwest Spokane, will begin the second phase of its development nearly a full year ahead of schedule. The Genstar Land Co. project also has opened an information center to serve prospective homebuyers. The center is located at 6730 S. Moran View Dr., Spokane.

Semiahmoo

During the first quarter of this year, home sales at Semiahmoo were double the number sold during the same period last year. Total sales, including homes, condominiums and homesites, increased $1.2 million over the first quarter of 1997 and set a record at the Blaine resort community. The boom is due to a strong economy and high prices in the Seattle area. The average price of a condominium at Semiahmoo is $300,000. Trillium Real Estate Services, doing business as Semiahmoo Resort Properties, represents the Semiahmoo Co.
