John Rizzardi, former managing partner with Betts, Patterson & Mines, has joined Cairncross & Hempelmann to lead the Seattle firm's new creditor's rights and bankruptcy law practice. New associates include Erik Marks with the real estate practice; Albert S. Chu with the civil trial and appellate litigation group; Dwight Wheaton with the strategic business planning group; Russell King with the civil trial and appellate litigation practice; and Nancy Bainbridge Rogers with the land use, natural resources and environmental law group.
Rourke O'Brien, co-founder and CEO of QPoint, a Bellevue-based home mortgage franchise company, has announced he will step down from his post. O'Brien will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors.

John Mohr, Port of Everett executive director, was recently elected to the board of the American Association of Port Authorities. Mohr was appointed in 1997 and is responsible for overall administration of the port, which includes the marine terminals, marina and industrial properties.

Jim Norman, a senior vice president for Trammell Crow, has been selected as the 1998 distinguished alumnus from Central Washington University School of Business and Economics in Ellensburg. Dallas-based Trammell earlier this year merged with the Norman Co., which Norman founded 18 years ago. Norman graduated from CWU in 1967. He has served on the CWU Foundation Board of Trustees since 1989 and his term expires this weekend.
Don Haze and Patrick Wilde have joined the Bellevue office of Norris, Beggs & Simpson as senior marketing consultant. Haze is a member of the industrial leasing division and was with Grubb & Ellis in Seattle when he sold and leased the 192,000-square-foot Paine Field Business Park in Everett. Wilde is a sales associate in the office leasing division.
Brent Lower has been hired at vice president of acquisitions for Lowe Enterprises Northwest. He previously was director of development of Columbia Development Group of Seattle.
Pete Hollomon has been promoted to senior associate at CB Richard Ellis. He joined the company in 1994 and specializes in the leasing and sales of office and high-tech properties on the Eastside.
Vicky C. Border has been prompted to property manager in the Bellevue office of Bentall. She has been an assistant property manager for the firm for one year and before she was assistant property manager at Quadrant/KMS Management Services.
Kathy Blain was Prudential's top dollar sales associate in the state during the last quarter. Janine Duncanand Craig Roberts were second and third, respectively. Blain and Duncan work in the company's Admiral office in West Seattle, and Roberts works at the Jefferson Square office, which also is in West Seattle.
Bellevue City Councilman Chuck Mosher and his wife Betty, and George and Anne Mack of Mercer Island yesterday bought seven of eight Redmond Office Center buildings from Drew Hall and Mel White's Redmond Whitehall Associates. The Moshers are to close on the eighth building in April, which will wrap up the $9.2-million deal for 58,000 square feet. The Moshers exchanged a medical/dental building in Kenmore to buy Buildings 1, 2 and 3 for a total of 20,296 square feet for nearly $3.21 million and they are buying the 8,364-square-foot Building 4 for nearly $1.33 million. The Macks exchanged some Seattle apartments to buy Buildings 5 through 8, a total of 29,470 square feet, for $4.66 million. The buildings are 100 percent leased. Overall, the deal comes to nearly $159 a square foot, which is the upper end for the wooden walk-up market. Bret Jordan of Colliers International brokered the deal.
Dr. Arif and Christine Khan have bought their second medical office building in Bellevue for $1.09 million. The Khans' Northwest Professional Centers LLC purchased the 2020 Building, a 6,684-square-foot structure at 2020 116th Ave. N.E., from the Swent Family LLC. Bruce Kahn and William Spencer, both of Marcus & Millichap, represented the buyer and seller, respectively. Kahn said the Khans' acquisition of a second building in the neighborhood "speaks to the tight medical office market" around Overlake Hospital and Medical Center. Two other Marcus & Millichap brokers, James Valk and Victor Waumet recorded sales. Waumet represented Lionel Sun, who bought Lynngate Plaza for $1 million from a private trust that Seafirst Bank handled. Valk represented the seller. The 21, 122-square-foot retail center at 6501 196th St. S.W., in Lynnwood was 80 percent occupied at closing. A St. Vincent de Paul thrift store is the anchor tenant. Valk represented Reith Road LLC, which purchased the Everwood 2050 Office Building for $1.4 million from Dan Kout. Everwood 2050 is a 10,958-square-foot office building at 2050 112th Ave. N.E., in Bellevue. Kout, who represented himself in the sale, bought the building four years ago for $975,000. Reith Road rents space in the building and wanted to control rent increases, according to Valk. He added the LLC also viewed the purchase as a good investment.
Mark Powell of Keller Williams Realty in Bellevue has been named facilitator for the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce's monthly Break for Success networking breakfast series. He is an agent and co-owner of the recently opened Bellevue office.
Dawn L. Loveland has joined Commonwealth as an account manager and will be responsible for calling on real estate agents in Kent and parts of Federal Way.
Thomas E. Bahn, CPM, has been promoted to senior vice president of the firm's Northwest Division. Based in Denver, he will oversee regional offices in Seattle, San Francisco and Honolulu.
Sheryl Anderson has joined Tarragon, a Seattle development company, and will work on the company's new multi-family project called Saxony on Inglewood Hill, and a mixed-use project, Saffron Village on the Sammamish Plateau. Elizabeth Best has joined the development team at Tarragon as marketing director. She will be in charge of public relations, business development and project promotion. She was formerly in sales and leasing with Wallace Properties.
