Matthew Balkman has been appointed a senior investment associate of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage company, according to Ross Candoo, first vice president and regional manager of the Seattle office.

Ethix, a managed health care organization covering more than 250,000 people in Oregon and Washington, has added three new staff members. Jo Ann Steele, a registered nurse, has been appointed to the position of associate director of quality management for the company. Previously, Steele was director of QM operations at Wellpoint/Blue Cross of California. Marva Seeley has been hired as community sales representative. She has extensive experience in the banking, financial services and real estate development industries. And, Jan Jewett has been named small group sales manager. Prior to joining Ethix, Jewett worked as a manager for Guardian Life and New York Life.

Tony Omlin has joined the First American Properties office in Tacoma. He will specialize in leasing and sales. Omlin was formerly senior leasing agent for Vyzis Company where he was responsible for the lease up of over two million square feet of retail properties.

Doug Sargent has been awarded the Accredited Buyer Representative designation by the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council. He is associated with the Windermere Poulsbo office and has exclusively represented buyers for the past three years.
Dick Clausen, real estate broker/manager in the Everett area for many years, has joined the Re/Max Masters Inc. office in Everett as associate broker. He was formerly with Windermere in the Alderwood area.

Grubb & Ellis has added Theodore Garman to its Seattle investment properties division. He specializes in the sale of commercial investment properties in the Puget Sound region. Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis, Garman was an associate broker with Chiles & Company.
Representatives from four condominium associations in the Overlake area met with Habitat for Humanity officials to review and reach an agreement on the 10-townhouse Habitat community on the former back parcel of Overlake Park Presbyterian Church. Carino Homes, formerly known as EJC/Scott/Anthony Construction Inc., has begun building Bay Colony, the first attached maintained homes at Northwest Landing, the mixed-use planned community in DuPont. Northwest Landing is being developed by Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company's land management division.
