Seattle-based Restaurants Unlimited's self-service marketplace eatery concept Zoopa has signed leases for new locations in Tacoma and North Seattle. A new $1.4 million, 8,000-square-foot location will open at Tacoma Place in mid-December, with the $1.45 million, 6,700-square-foot North Seattle location just off I-5 at Ballinger Way, the company's first free-standing restaurant, set for a mid-February 1996 opening. Restaurants Unlimited, which operates 25 restaurants in six states and over 300 company-owned and franchised bakeries in the United States, Canada and Mexico, is also negotiating for additional Zoopa sites at Northgate, Redmond and Federal Way. Two more Zoopas are expected to open by the end of 1996.
