Bullivant Houser Bailey PC, a Seattle-based law firm has added Michael McCormack and Richard Birinyi to its office. McCormack is a member of the firm's insurance practice group and focuses his practice on insurance coverage and complex litigation. Birinyi joins the firm as of counsel. He practices in the area of creditor/debtor issues, corporate reorganizations and business transactions.

Kidder Mathews & Segner last year out-grew competing commercial brokerage houses to become the Puget Sound area's largest brokerage based on number of brokers. Kidder's march continues. Kidder hires mostly by attracting experienced brokers from other firms. Some of its latest catches, according to executive vice president Gordon Buchan, include: retail broker Tim O'Kane, who came from Northwest Retail Partners; industrial broker Matt Wood from Norris Beggs & Simpson (where Wood's father is an owner in Portland); Eastside office and industrial broker Tom Robison, over from president of Regency Group; and office and investment broker Peter Norman, making the switch from Windermere in Tacoma. Buchan said that brings Kidder to 81 licensed brokers, including the firm's three managers.
Danette M. Capello and Stephanie M. Hicks became real estate and land use attorneys at Davis Wright Tremaine, both as associates. Capello received her law degree at the University of Washington. Hicks received her B.A. from UW and law degree from Willamette University in Oregon.
Re/Max Canyon Park Realty of Bothell and Re/Max Northwest Realtors of Seattle merged to become Re/Max Northwest Realtors.
Standard & Poor's gave its highest possible rating to Seattle-area affordable housing bond issues. Four transactions received the rating of 'A+' due to strong financial operating performance. S&P said it issued only six A+ ratings nationwide.
Boeing Realty Corp. said it hired Lowe Enterprises to sell 47 acres of the planned 240-acre Pacific Gateway Business Park in Kent. This spring, Boeing began preparing the land for development as a major business park north of the Kent Space center, the first time that Boeing assumed the role of commercial land developer in this area. Boeing said it intends to conduct the land development and then sell sites to building developers.

Lisa Rowe's busy leasing up of Bentall's various Eastside office projects has landed her a promotion to Bentall vice president. The company said Rowe "has been instrumental in leasing more than 2.5 million of Bentall's 3 million-square-foot office portfolio in Bellevue and Seattle." Rowe received her broker license 13 years ago and has worked for Bentall since 1997. Her next leasing job is The Summit in downtown Bellevue, a two building office complex which Bentall eventually may build out at 520,000 square feet. Construction of the first building is slated to start in September.
David Hoff and Kevin Anderson started a residential real estate web site company in Seattle last year called RealSaver.com that plans to launch its Web site on Sept. 1. They describe the site as "a virtual marketplace where neighborhood-based real estate service providers and clients interested in buying or selling a home in those neighborhoods can meet." Real estate agents can pay to become the sole listed representative for a zip code area. Hoff previously worked at Microsoft. Anderson started Cognigen.com, which he described as an online telephone long-distance provider.
Commercial lenders at the Seattle office of L.J. Melody & Co. put together $140 million in financing for a Unico Properties partnership's recent purchase of the U.S. Bancorp Tower in downtown Portland.
Affiliates of the insurance giant Cigna provided the funding through Michal Makar and David Stinebaugh of Melody's Seattle office and Kory Arnston of Melody's Portland office, Melody said.
A partnership of Unico, New York-based Chase Capital Partners and U.S. Bank bought the 1.1 million-square-foot tower from the Minneapolis-based bank's parent company, U.S. Bancorp. The partnership didn't disclose the price it paid.
Cynthia "Sunny" Worsley was hired as assistant vice president in marketing for Mill Creek-based HMB Commercial Capital.

King was a commercial agent for Coldwell Banker Bain working with Quadrant Homes. Noell-Olive most recently worked for John L. Scott in Renton. Cindy Dickert in Lake Stevens. Dickert came from Centex Homes in Bellevue
