Washington State Coalition for the Homeless

The Washington State Coalition for the Homeless' 14th-annual conference, New Faces of Homelessness, is May 12-14 at the Yakima Convention Center. Puget Sound Properties

Moultrie

Billy Moultrie has been promoted to senior associate at Puget Sound Properties Commercial Real Estate Services. He joined the company in 2001, and specializes in leasing and sale of commercial real estate in the Kent Valley and the Southend.

Colliers International

The 190-unit Summerwood Apartments on Avondale Road in Redmond sold last week for $17.6 million, or $92,361 per unit. Colliers International officials say the total price makes it the largest Eastside apartment sale so far this year. Joe Levin of Colliers represented the buyer, Downtown Action To Save Housing, a nonprofit entrepreneurial real estate development entity whose mission is to create affordable housing opportunities on the Eastside. Summerwood Apartments LLC, the seller, did not list the property and had no broker.

Wolfgang Rood Hospitality

Bellevue-based Wolfgang Rood Hospitality Consulting reports January hotel occupancy rates decreased by 7 percent in downtown Seattle and nearly 12 percent on the Eastside compared to the same month in 2003. But they were up almost 11 percent in the Southend, 8 percent in Snohomish County and 9 percent in Pierce County. Statewide, average daily room rates declined just over 1 percent to $91.06. In Seattle and the Southend, the average rate increased marginally, and decreased just over 2 percent on the Eastside.

Forsythe Appraisals

One month after it opened a branch in Bellevue, Minnesota-based Forsythe Appraisals has opened an office in Spokane, the company's 21st. Steve Johnson, who has spent his career in Spokane, will manage the branch. The company bills itself as one of the largest providers of residential real estate appraisal services in the country.

Re/Max International

Re/Max International sales associates in Washington donated more than $82,000 in 2003 for the Children's Miracle Network. All funds went to the Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. Thirty-one offices participated, with the Everett, Bothell, Kirkland and Seattle offices raising more than $50,000. The Children's Miracle Network raises money for hospitals serving children in North America. Re/Max became the real estate sponsor of CMN in 1993.

Windermere

Windermere Real Estate is publishing a new luxury home and lifestyle publication, Premier Living Magazine. It's an expanded version of the company's Premier Magazine. The full-color glossy quarterly is being mailed to nearly 25,000 affluent households, primarily in the Puget Sound region.

Rehab seminar

The Real Estate Association of Puget Sound presents Secrets from the Rehab Queen, Robyn Thompson at a daylong seminar March 27 at Lake Washington Technical College in Kirkland. Thompson is a former waitress who went on to work as an IBM financial analyst. She later formed Home Buyers LLC and says she now sells 40 to 50 homes a year using all-cash transactions that net at least $25,000 each. She will offer tips on acquiring, repairing and selling distressed homes. The seminar is $49 for REAPS members and $69 for nonmembers. Make reservations at www.reapsweb.com.
