Wallace Properties

Kevin R. Wallace is joining his family's business, Wallace Properties of Bellevue, as general counsel and vice president of acquisitions. Wallace is the son of company CEO Bob Wallace. Kevin Wallace, an honors graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law, previously practiced real estate law at Foster Pepper & Shefelman in Seattle. Bob Wallace said his appointment is "one of the most gratifying announcements we've ever made." Wallace Properties is active in investment, development, sales, leasing, syndication and property management.

Shurgard Storage Centers

Dev Ghose is joining Shurgard Storage Centers, a Seattle-based self-storage real estate investment trust. He will start work in June and become chief financial officer in mid-August. Dave Grant has been serving as interim CFO. Ghose has been a financial services partner with Tatum Partners, which provides financial and technology services to client companies.

Grubb & Ellis

Conan Lee has joined Grubb and Ellis' Office Services Group in Seattle. He will specialize in landlord and tenant representation. Lee was previously a real estate manager for the Phillips Management Co., in Seattle.

Northwest Suites & Housing Services

Northwest Suites & Housing Services of Redmond hired Kim Wood, a warehouse specialist; Dawn Montemor, sales consultant; Charles Sawyer, carpet cleaning technician; and Stuart Smith and Erik Eagleson, both in general maintenance. The 16-year-old company provides corporate housing.

Seattle Biomedical Research Institute

Members of the Puget Sound-area commercial real estate industry have raised more than $150,000 to help build Seattle Biomedical Research Institute's BioQuest Learning Lab. Another $150,000 is needed to build a science education lab at SBRI's new building at 307 Westlake Ave. Representatives from CarrAmerica, McKinstry, NBBJ, Vulcan, Sparling and Skanska are working on the program.

Kent Downtown Partnership

The Kent Downtown Partnership is hosting a lunch at 11:30 a.m. today to discuss leasing opportunities. The event, which is free to brokers and $20 for the general public, will be at Wild Wheat Bakery, 202 First Ave. S. Maria Royer of Blatteis Realty will discuss Kent Station, Tarragon Development's $100 million mixed-use project. Capacity Commercial Group

Jeff Falconer and Mike Nye have left the Trammell Crow Co.'s Office Services Group and joined 24-year industry veteran Don Ossey, owner of Ossey Patterson Co., to create Capacity Commercial Group. It will offer a range of industrial and office real estate services. Also joining the company from Ossey Patterson are industrial brokers Allen Patterson and Nick Kucha and Sherie Sitton, office manager. Dan Slevin and Mark Hush, formerly of Colliers International, have joined the industrial side of the business.

Quadrant Homes promoted Will Poirot and Janet Stannard to assistant controllers, Erinn Goff to senior accountant, and Denis Korobov and Kristine Steele to accountants.

Erin McPherson has been promoted to director of relocation of John L. Scott's Relocation Division. She has been with the company three years and has seven years' relocation industry experience, including work as a consultant for Cedant Mobility onsite at Microsoft. Jerry Howard, a 15-year real estate veteran, is new managing broker of the John L. Scott West Seattle office. He has been a top producer and part of the company's mentoring programs. Agent Jackson F. Simmons of the company's Highlands office in North Seattle has earned the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation by completing a two-day course.

The Snohomish County Economic Development Council is hosting a free, two-hour program, "Permitting in One Day," at 7:30 a.m. May 25 at Monte Villa Farms, Canyon Park at 3305 Monte Villa Parkway in Bothell.
