The Dow Hotel Co.

The Dow Hotel Co., a Seattle-based owner/investor and management company, signed a management agreement to operate the 565-room Holiday Inn Select Downtown Hotel & Spa San Francisco. The property, owned by Justice Investors, will undergo a $15 million renovation this fall. President Murray L. Dow II said the renovation will restore the 27-story hotel's reputation as one of the city's best upscale hotels.

Alan Scearce is the new senior vice president and COO of John L. Scott Real Estate. He previously oversaw the Client Services Division. Now he'll also oversee marketing, Internet and communications programs. Nick Nordby joined the company as director of administrative operations. He will work on facility, human resource, information technology and other issues.

Pacific Real Estate Partners

Chris Palmer has joined Pacific Real Estate Partners in Bellevue as an associate. Previously, he worked in the information technology industry, including five years with Microsoft in Redmond and in his native Australia. His father owns a commercial real estate agency and Palmer said he has always has been interested in the profession. He does only tenant representation, focusing on Eastside office.

Robert M.B. Draper has joined Norris, Beggs & Simpson's Bellevue mortgage banking branch as vice president, joining Mike Wood, branch manager. Draper worked as senior vice president at Citizens Bank of Massachusetts in Boston and also worked in Seattle at Pacific First Bank.

Colliers International

Colliers' Tim Foster, Chris Kagi and Jeff Huntington, listing agents for the Pacific Building in downtown Seattle, signed five tenants to 28,000 square feet in May. They are Qualifacts Systems, BMC Corp., A Dot Corp., CDR Consultants and L&L Financial. LHT Corp., owns the 23-story building, at 720 Third Ave. The 130,000-square-foot property is 14 percent vacant.

Williams Marketing has named Peggy Schulz director of marketing. She will develop and coordinate campaigns for sales and development of condos. As a 15-year industry veteran, she has created training programs for major corporations in Tokyo and worked at Bon-Macy's as senior advertising account executive.

Quadrant Homes has promoted Richard Ferry to assistant design manager and Chloe Moore to residential designer.

REAPS events

  • Vena Jones-Cox, a Cincinnati broker, author and radio talk-show host, will speak at two REAPS events this month. Both are at Lake Washington Technical College in Kirkland. Jones-Cox specializes in working with real estate investors, with a focus on lease/optioning homes and wholesaling properties to investors. The first event is a program at 7 p.m. June 23. It is free for members of the Real Estate Association of Puget Sound and $15 for others. The second is a daylong seminar at 9 a.m. June 26. Cost is $49 for members and $69 for nonmembers.
