Carolyn Davis has been promoted to senior research associate for Cushman & Wakefield in the Puget Sound region. The Seattle native, who moves into a supervisory role, has more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate. She is an active member of Commercial Real Estate Women and was the Seattle chapter's 2002 Member of the Year.

The Benaroya Cos.

The Benaroya Cos. leased more than 125,000 square feet of office and industrial space last week. At the South 216th property in Kent, Freeman Decorating Services leased 62,000 square feet; Sean Barnes of Staubach Co. represented the tenant, and Chris Corr, Matt Wood and Terry McAleer of GVA Kidder Mathews represented Benaroya. In Canyon Park, Signature Packaging is taking 44,000 feet; Paul Jerue and Chris Langer of the Broderick Group were the listing agents. At Metropolitan Park in Seattle WTS Inc., represented by Jeff Durrell of Pacific Real Estate Partners, rented 15,000 feet, and Golf Savings Bank, represented by Todd Battison of GVA Kidder Mathews, leased 6,200 feet. The Met Park listing agents are Garth Olsen, Michael Dash and Scotta Ashcraft of Cushman & Wakefield. While it's a sign leasing activity is increasing, Larry Benaroya says the market "is not booming but it's better."

HomeStreet Bank

HomeStreet Bank is providing $9.5 million in financing for construction of Monohon at Lake Sammamish, a 47-unit condominium in Issaquah. Weyerhaeuser Realty Investors is providing mezzanine funding. Williams Marketing is marketing the project on the 2.5-acre parcel. It's a four-story, wood-frame building with units ranging in size from 1,000 to 1,600 square feet. The median sales price is $324,000. Saltaire Builders LLC of Seattle is the developer.

Quadrant Homes

Quadrant Homes marks its 35th anniversary this fall. The Bellevue-based company estimates it has built more than 6,000 homes in the Puget Sound region. In 2003, the company closed a record 958 home sales, up 10 percent over 2002. The company estimates it will close on 1,100 homes this year. In 1969, Quadrant employed 12 people; today 180 people work for the company, whose sales revenues are approaching $500 million. The company is building homes in 13 communities, with prices ranging from $160,000 to the low $400,000s.

Windermere Real Estate

Windermere has begun updating the multiple listing data on its Web site, http://www.windermere.com, every 15 minutes to provide users with up-to-date market information. Company officials said they made the improvement after the Northwest Multiple Listing Service made its data available more frequently.

Recycling seminar

Starting in 2005, Seattle businesses will be prohibited from disposing of most paper, cardboard and yard debris in the garbage. To help property managers better understand this and other recycling issues, there will be a half-day seminar at 8 a.m. Monday at the Washington Athletic Club, 1325 Sixth Ave., in Seattle. The Building Owners and Managers Association and Resource Venture are the sponsors. Continuing education clock hours are available. Tuition ranges from $45 to $85. AGC breakfast

Ada Healey of Vulcan and Greg Smith of Gregory Broderick Smith Real Estate will speak at the Associated General Contractors of Washington Education Foundation's third-annual Leadership Breakfast at 7 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Seattle Westin Hotel.
