For the 10th consecutive year, John L. Scott agent Jerry Mahan of Puyallup has been named the company's highest producing sales associate, ranking first out of 3,900 agents in 2004, when he closed 320 transactions worth more than $118.5 million. He has been an agent 22 years, the last 12 with John L. Scott. New agents at John L. Scott are Candace Anderson, at the Gig Harbor office; Helen Hitchcock, Mercer Island; Alex Karre, Redmond; and Michael Megill, Lynnwood Center.

NBS Real Estate Capital

Growth at investment management company NBS Real Estate Capital has prompted the company to move to Suite 260 in Portland's Bank of America Financial Center, 121 S.W. Morrison St. David Dewey has joined the company as a vice president. Dewey previously worked at Pension Consulting Alliance Inc. The firm's portfolio is growing with investments made on behalf of Morrison Street Fund I LP. In the last year, NBS made seven investments across the West with a combined value of approximately $100 million. The company expects to expand its portfolio by at least another $75 million this year, CEO Rance Gregory says. Gregory and commercial real estate company Norris, Beggs & Simpson own NBS Real Estate Capital.

Metzler North America

Metzler North America is expanding its Seattle office and has hired six people. John Bliss, formerly of Unico, is responsible for the capital markets team. New to acquisitions are Matthew Paddock, formerly with Kennedy Associates, Ross Dorn, formerly of Boeing Realty, and Brian Moosburner, previously with ING Clarion. Rob Piatok, formerly of Trammell Crow Co., and Ai Kong, previously with Colliers International, are new support staff members in asset services. Metzler, which works with German and U.S. private and institutional clients, has $2 billion of assets under management. The company completed $950 million in transactions in 2004 and plans to invest $1.3 billion this year.

Clise Properties

Clise Properties' 1700 Building in Seattle received The Office Building of the Year Award, or TOBY, from BOMA International for 2004-05 in the Pacific Northwest. The 24-story office tower, completed in 2001, has been entered in the Building Owners and Managers Association's international competition.

Glacier Management

Seattle-based Glacier Management hired James Liska, who has 25 years' experience in accounting and real estate. He focuses on due diligence, property tax filings and valuations, and business operations. Also, Glacier has opened an office in downtown Portland's Pioneer Park Building. Glacier is a property management and consulting company that specializes in large multifamily and mixed-use properties.

NAIOP

The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties named Douglas Howe chapter president of the year and Washington state chapter administrator Eric Featherstone executive director/administrator of the year. Howe served as Washington state chapter president last year. The awards were presented earlier this month in Washington, D.C.

Law Seminars International

Law Seminars International will give two real estate courses next month, both at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel and both offering continuing education credits. On March 7-8, there will be a conference on documenting major commercial property sales. Residential redevelopment of contaminated property is the topic of a March 11 class. Woodinville Banner Bank

Banner Bank's Woodinville branch added Joseph Scott as vice president and commercial loan officer. Scott will work on getting new business and maintaining commercial loans. He worked at EverTrust Bank/KeyBank. Banner Corp. is the parent company of Banner Bank, a commercial bank headquartered in Walla Walla that has 49 branch offices in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
