Kidder Mathews added multifamily investment broker Brian Richardson to the Bellevue team as a vice president. Richardson has worked in the industry since 2004, closing more than $650 million in multifamily transactions. He last worked at Insite Property Solutions in Bothell as an investment broker and asset manager, and completed more than $63 million in transactions and arranged more than $40 million in financing. Kidder Mathews has more than 550 employees in 13 offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona and Nevada.
Commercial Brokers Association has elected new officers and directors for 2016. Directors serve three-year terms: Jim Bowles, The Bowles Co.; Tiffini Connell, West Coast Commercial Realty; Tom Hoban, Coast Group of Cos.; and Jeff Johnson, Black Commercial. Officers serve one-year terms: Chairman Scott Blankenship, Wallace Properties; Vice Chair David Magee, Cushman Wakefield; Secretary/Treasurer Michael McQuaid, McQuaid Real Estate; and Past Chair Gordon Buchan, Kidder Mathews.
Renee Comey of Re/Max Elite received the company's Hall of Fame award for agents who have earned more than $1 million in commissions during their careers. Re/Max said about 23 percent of its brokers earn this honor. Comey is based in Everett on a team of four: her husband Scott Comey, buyer specialist Bonni Tuley and assistant Alexa Northcutt-White.
The Andover Co. earned the Power Broker designation from CoStar Group for a 13th year as one of the area's top leasing and sales firms. Andover's Brian Bruininks was named an individual Power Broker for industrial leasing, the fifth time he has earned the designation. Andover Co. is a division of Corfac International Group. It has 13 agents focused on leasing and selling industrial, office and investment properties.
Gary Guenther of Kidder Mathews will discuss the biggest deals in the local office market at Bellevue Chamber of Commerce's next business lunch at noon March 24 at Hyatt Regency Bellevue. HFF last month added Carrie Kahn as a director in the Portland office. She will focus on multifamily housing investment sales in the Northwest. Kahn has more than 10 years of experience in multifamily. She last worked at CBRE as a first vice president in the investment properties group, where she was involved in more than $1.5 billion in transactions in Portland and Chicago. She has also worked at Fifield Cos, a Chicago developer, and in the real estate banking group at J.P. Morgan.
AreaMetrics, a Seattle-based analytics platform for brick and mortar retailers, said it raised $2 million in seed funding. AreaMetrics helps retailers understand what consumer want and how they shop. It was founded in Hawaii in 2014, and moved to Westlake Tower's WeWork coworking space in Seattle in January, seeking tech talent and potential business partners.
Point B Inc.'s Michael Retter has been named one of Consulting Magazine's top 35 consultants under 35. Retter focuses on international project management, with an emphasis on supply chain, organizational development and delivery. Point B is based in Seattle and does development, management consulting and venture investment. The firm's website says it has worked on ski resorts, airports, schools and tech projects.
The Washington chapter of the Certified Commercial Investment Member Institute has established a $1,000 annual scholarship named for Connie Sombs Boyle for CCIM classes and live presentations. Boyle started her career at Coldwell Banker Danforth, before moving to Colliers International in 2003. In 2010, she became a vice president at The Andover Co. in Tukwila.
