Bowman in Wallingford 95% leased

The Bowman in Wallingford, famed for its rooftop chicken coop, is 95 percent leased, according to developer Legacy Partners. The five-story, 278-unit building at 3801 Stone Way N. opened last summer. Construction began in 2014. In a statement, Legacy's Kerry Nicholson said, “Our residents love the hip vibe we created ... as well as being in the white-hot Wallingford neighborhood.” Retail tenants include Bar Charlie, men's clothing boutique Eames and Art of the Table restaurant. The Bowman team included Rutledge Maul Architects and BNBuilders.

Governor Jay Inslee named Vancouver city councilmember Alishia Topper and Yakima housing professional Lowel Krueger to the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. Topper works as deputy tax-service manager for Clark County Treasurer's Office. Krueger is executive director of the Yakima and Kittitas County Housing Authorities. The four-year terms start immediately. WSHFC's Karen Miller said, “We are excited to have two such accomplished individuals join us. Their perspectives on our statewide housing challenges will be extremely valuable.”

Stewart Title adds to team

The downtown Seattle office of Stewart Title Guaranty Co. has added to its team. Vicki Coats will serve as as a senior commercial escrow officer. In a statement, Stewart's Peter Johndrow said, “I'm very excited to welcome back Vicki to Stewart Title, and having her join our commercial services team.”

Junction in Bothell adds retailers

MainStreet Property Group said it has signed two new retail tenants for the 130-unit Junction apartments in Bothell, which is expected to open this fall. PinkaBella CupCakes and First Financial Northwest Bank will open new locations there. The city of Bothell estimates that about $350 million in private investment is being fostered by its sale of one million square feet of land to developers. The Junction will have 30,000 square feet of retail and commercial space. Other signed tenants include Poquitos Mexican Restaurant and Prime Steakhouse.

HFF closes big Portland retail sale

Jantzen Beach Center sold for $131 million.

Holliday Fenoglio Fowler's Portland office announced the $131.75 million sale of Jantzen Beach Center. HFF represented the seller, the State of Michigan Retirement System fund. Kimco Realty Corp. a large REIT, was the buyer. Developed in 1972, Jantzen Beach Center has almost 760,000 square feet. Tenants include Best Buy, Home Depot and Target. HFF's Nick Kassab and Brian Ley led the HFF sales team.

Home inspector wins book award

Dylan Chalk was recently granted a Silver Award from the National Association of Real Estate Editors for his 2016 book “The Confident House Hunter: A Home Inspector's Tips for Finding Your Perfect House.” NAREE President Michelle Jarobe said Chalk offers clear and helpful advice for anyone examining a home.

Two ULI events: tour, mayoral candidates

The Urban Land Institute is holding its Cascadia Regional Conference Friday and Saturday in Hood River, Oregon, with a waterfront tour, lunch, panel discussion and wine tasting at White House Winery. On Monday, July 17, ULI is sponsoring the Built Environment Mayoral Candidates Forum at Seattle Central Library at 8:30 a.m. Expected to attend are candidates Jenny Durkan, Jessyn Farrell, Mike McGinn, Cary Moon and Nikkita Oliver. Tri-Cities startup Lordea.com

Founded in Richland last year, a startup called Lordea.com is aiming far beyond the province of Zillow or Redfin. The company says it now carries residential listings for Austria, Slovenia and India, and is planning to add the U.S. and Mexico. Principals are Spencer Dixon, Chris Wilson and Basilios Strmec. In a statement, Strmec said, “Our mission for this company is to be the real estate search engine that everyone can go to and find and purchase a property wherever it is. We'd like to create a global market.”
