Phase 1 was completed in 1995. Phase 2 will raise the capacity of the facility from its current 8 million gallons per day to a level of 16 million gallons per day. Phase 1 of the project was designed to allow efficient expansion with minimal impact to ongoing plant operations. Many Phase 1 facilities incorporated space for Phase 2 and ultimately Phase 3 process equipment. Required Phase 2 new facilities will abut similar Phase 1 structures. They will be similar in size and mirror the architecture of Phase 1 facilities making them nearly indistinguishable from the original facility. New facilities that will be constructed during the Phase 2 project include a grit chamber, three primary clarifiers, three aeration basins, two secondary clarifiers, return sludge pump station, and effluent pumping and ultraviolet light effluent disinfection in a common facility. Mature landscaping planted as a part of Phase 1 to provide visual screening of the site will be unaffected by the Phase 2 expansion. |
