Description
The improvements to Governor John R. Rogers High School will add over
10,000 square feet of space, most of it to create a student services
center that will become the new hub for the school.
The center, with its high ceilings and clerestry windows, will be made
with open-webbed steel trusses, brick veneer, slab-on-grade concrete
and a modified bitumen roof. The existing 188,000-square-foot school
will be modernized with new floor, wall and ceiling finishes, and a
new mechanical system.
Outside, a new entryway has been designed for the campus to lead visitors
to the front door and a new central courtyard is expected to become
a gathering place for students. Other site development includes new
parking lots, a softball field and four tennis courts.
