The classroom building is structural steel framed with an exterior skin of architectural precast and brick veneer, gabled zinc metal roofing and flat membrane roof, and extensive aluminum window systems. The parking structure is precast concrete with basalt stonework exterior finish. It can hold 285 vehicles. The project also consists of extensive site improvements, including a surface parking lot, landscaped plaza areas, and asphalt paver surface mall. Unique to this project is the site. The building pad preparation included extensive excavation into an existing hillside and construction of a 45-foot-high soil nail and shotcrete retaining wall along three sides of the building. Extensive drainage systems are also included throughout the steel piling foundation system to remove subgrade moisture. |
