Project description: About 70 acres of asphalt paving, a 2,000-foot pier, 10,000 feet of railroad track for the intermodal yard, 42,000 square yards of concrete paving, a maintenance facility, administration building and associated underground storm, sewer, water and electrical services. Note: the pier and buildings for the project were built under separate contracts with the port. American Construction built the pier and Pease Construction built the buildings.

Original contract amount: $17,623,000.
Start of construction: April 1998.
Expected completion date: Nov. 15, 1998.
