Project description: This contract will complete the replacement of eastbound SR-2 between the Snohomish River and Cavalero corner. It includes a new high level fixed span over the Snohomish River, connecting ramps to northbound and southbound I-5, and a new connection to Hewitt Avenue in Everett. The work will include a new access ramp to Ebey Island and demolition of the old eastbound structure including the span over the Snohomish River. The work will include drilled shafts, driven steel pile, cast-in-place concrete columns, piers, road deck, structural steel girders, and three types of precast concrete girders. It also includes concrete retaining walls, excavation, drainage, embankment, surfacing, paving, demolition, plantings and lighting.
Original contract amount: $33,375,290.
Start of construction: January 1999.
Expected completion date: Maximum 830 working days.
