InfoSpace, Inc. announced its acquisition of YPI.Net, a product of Banana Pages. The acquisition is part of InfoSpace's nationwide consortium of independent yellow pages publishers and advertising on the Internet. Yellow pages publishers, like Banana Pages, Sunshine Pages and Advantage Pages, plus over 35 newspapers around the country, are connected to the Internet via InfoSpace.

Stanley Kravitz has been promoted to first vice president in the Seattle office of CB Commercial Real Estate Group, Inc. Kravitz has 23 years' experience in real estate, 15 of them with CB. He specializes in office and biotechnology leasing and sales.

International Telcom has promoted Eric Doescher to vice president of Faxaway, an e-mail to fax and Internet-based broadcast fax service. Doescher will provide strategic direction in the areas of advertising, marketing and sales. Faxaway provides e-mail to fax services, charging only for the actual time required to transmit a fax, allowing users to avoid per page charges.
The Sharehouse, providers of household supplies to the homeless and educators about homelessness issues, has a number of volunteer opportunities available. The organization needs someone to create a newsletter highlighting young people's involvement in homeless issues. EDMONDS -- Pentec Environmental Inc., an environmental consulting firm in Edmonds, has announced the following additions and promotions: Jeffrey P. Fisher, Ph.D., has joined Pentec as an environmental toxicologist. Fisher's background is in aquatic toxicology, fish pathology, aquaculture and fish biology. Stephanie Allen has joined Pentec as a wetland ecologist. She will perform wetland delineations, mitigation and monitoring. Chris Scott is Pentec's new computer network administrator. He also will be responsible for AutoCAD and graphics production. C. Rhett Jackson, Ph.D., P.E., senior hydrologist at Pentec, has been promoted to principal-in-charge of the watershed group. Ken Sargent, senior wetland ecologist at Pentec, has been promoted to principal-in-charge of the wetlands group. Pentec provides environmental services for coastal, waterfront and land development projects and natural resources management projects.

Bellingham-based Peak Technologies, a developer of Internet performance products, has announced a new product: JetEffects, an animation tool for Web sites. JetEffects, a Java-based software product, allows Web authors to add animation to any Web site without experience in Java or HTML programming. JetEffects can be downloaded from the Peak Web site for a free 30-day trial period.

Midisoft Corp. announced that John H. Bauer has joined the company's board of directors. Bauer is executive vice president of Nintendo of America Inc. Prior to joining Nintendo, Bauer served as managing partner of the Seattle office and Northwest region of Coopers & Lybrand. Midisoft is an Issaquah-based provider of music and audio software.Bumbershoot Sheila Hughes has been appointed festival producer for Bumbershoot, the Seattle Arts Festival. One Reel president Norman Langill has been appointed executive producer. One Reel is a Northwest non-profit arts and events organization promoting Bumbershoot. Other staff for the festival includes booking associate David Meinert who returns to program regional rock and alternative bands. Corporate sponsorship manager Alison Snook has been selected to secure national and regional corporate sponsors for stages, venues and major projects. Chris Porter will act as the new booking coordinator.
Dan McGinnis has been named associate vice president in the Seattle office of Colliers International. McGinnis has been a top-producing broker with the firm, said President Rob Aigner.
To the list of high-profile tenants already signed up for Redmond Town Center, add Claim Jumper Restaurant. The chain of western-style restaurants will open an 11,600-square-foot eatery between the two corporate campuses of AT&T Wireless Services on Bear Creek Parkway. The restaurant will have wood-fired pizza ovens and a display kitchen. It is part of a 19-store chain that was started in 1977 in Los Alamitos, Calif. Also at Redmond Town Center, Canyon Cafe will join the restaurant scene. The Texas-based chain's menu features a combination of Native American, Texas and Mexican dishes. The Town Center location will occupy 6,500 square feet in the center of the project, near Claim Jumper.
