Seattle-based West Stock Photography announced that the Xerox Corp. has chosen it to be an on-demand color printing partner. West Stock will be presenting at Xerox's DocuWorld 97 where it will show how to use its online stock photography catalog of professional color photographs in on-demand color printing applications. West Stock has been an early innovator in the digital delivery of high-quality photography.
The International Staff Group (ISG) has developed an online calendar of international events for the Greater Seattle area, located on the internet at http://www.ci.seattle.wa.us/business/tda/isgfront.htm. ISG is an informal group comprised of internationally focused organizations located in the Greater Seattle area, including the Washington Council on International Trade, the World Affairs Council and the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle. Modern Digital, a film and video post-production facility, has acquired Digital Post and Graphics, a post-production house specializing in visual effects, computer animation and multi-media development. The new company will be based in Seattle and assume the name of Modern Digital Post and Graphics. Owners of the company are president Richard Fassio and vice president David Fassio.
Seattle Public Schools is inviting parents, corporations and all members of the community to donate used computer equipment to the "Great Computer Roundup for Education," from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 31 at the Seattle Center. Seattle schools will get credit based on the resale value of donated equipment toward the purchase of new technology. The Computer Roundup is jointly sponsored by the Alliance for Education, Microsoft, KING 5, Compaq and GE Capital. For more information about the event, call (800) 992-6449.

Paul A. Merriman & Associates, a registered investment advisor, has appointed Richard Buck as publications manager and senior editor. Buck will write and edit Merriman's monthly newsletter, the Fund Exchange, as well as develop other existing and new publications for the firm. Power Quality Testing, specialists in testing and inspection of building electrical wiring, has opened in Everett. Power Quality Testing offers several services to increase the reliability of computers and other sensitive electronic equipment. These include: building wiring verification and testing, baseline analysis of new buildings, routine maintenance, and the measurement of ground impedance, harmonic distortions, and transients.

Peter Opsahl has moved to Swenson Say Faget from Skilling Ward Magnusson Barkshire. His structural design experience includes convention center, medical and high rise projects, some in areas of high seismic risk. His responsibilities include structural design, project management and marketing, and he is currently working on Rainier Beach High School Auditorium. Wendy Shi has joined the firm as a staff engineer. She has worked for several years in Beijing performing structural analysis and design of industrial and commercial buildings. Janine Boyer Richards, a new CAD technician at Swenson Say Faget, is also teaching a class in advanced contract drawing preparation at North Seattle Community College (NSCC). Jay Hollingworth is also a CAD technician and is teaching construction design and drafting at NSCC.
Gretchen's of Course, a Seattle-based catering, floral and express lunch and breakfast provider, has appointed Tracy Edelson as operations manager. Her responsibilities include office and facility management, computer administration, telecommunications and purchasing management. Gretchen's of Course is a division of Schwartz Brothers Restaurants.
