Mackie Designs

Mackie Designs of Woodinville announced partnering agreements with two firms involved in sound effects technology, one with Apogee Electronics Corp. and the other with IVL Technologies. Apogee specializes in digital mastering technology and IVL specializes in digital audio effects. Mackie will use the expertise of both firms to enhance its new digital audio products.

Davis Wright

Brian Deagle, formerly an associate with Williams Kastner & Gibbs law firm, has joined the Seattle office of Davis Wright Tremaine as a member of that law firm's corporate, intellectual property and technology practice groups.

King County Community Service Center

King County opened a new community service center this week at 19145 N.E. Woodinville-Duvall Rd. in Woodinville. It is the fourth to be developed in an effort to put a "human face on county government," according to County Executive Ron Sims. Citizens can use the center to get a marriage or pet license, use computers to look up property assessment information, pay property taxes, pick up forms and applications and get other information and referral services. Four such centers are in operation now and new ones are planned in the Snoqualmie Valley, Shoreline and on the Sammamish Plateau.

Toll Free Cellular

Robin Reiners is the new director of marketing communications for Toll Free Cellular, Seattle. The company is launching the first toll and airtime-free services for wireless phone subscribers using 800 numbers. Diana Harker has been named advertising specialist. Reiners was formerly with Allied Telesyn International in Bothell and previously headed her own Tacoma-based design firm. Harker was associate manager of client services for KidStar Interactive Media.

Excell

Excell Data Corp. of Bellevue has announced one promotion and two new executive hires. The information technology services company has named Richard Schwartz to vice president of services. He was formerly director of contract consulting services. Mark Kettering is the new vice president of business development and Stewart "Sandy" Blyth is the new general manager, Microsoft Enterprise. Kettering will be in charge of sales and marketing teams as well as maintain corporate alliances. Blyth will oversee business development with Microsoft.

Emerald Solutions

Emerald Solutions, a Bellevue-based information technology consulting firm, has acquired ServerLogic Corp., a provider of the PowerBuilder line of products and client/server consulting solutions, particularly to firms in the transportation industry. ServerLogic will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emerald Solutions.

GA Design

GA Design, Bellevue, has announced several new projects: a multimedia Powerpoint presentation for Microsoft's Education Consumer Unit; new corporate identity package for Sonus Pharmaceuticals and a new corporate identity for William Buchan Homes.
