Owen Reese has joined W&H Pacific as a water resource designer. With a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington, his responsibilities will include hydrologic modeling and stormwater drainage design. Don Lutton has joined the firm as a CAD technician. He has worked for Harms and Associates in Pasco for the past five years.

SEATTLE -- Seattle consulting firm EnviroIssues has added Helene Lorentzen and Michelle Silbernagel to its staff. Lorentzen has a bachelor's degree in economics from Trinity College and a master's degree in management from Yale University. Her experience includes economic analysis of environmental management systems and federal energy practices. "She is working on our Department of Energy program for new cleanup technologies for DOE facilities," said EnviroIssues President Pat Serie. "She's helping to get new technologies used at DOE facilities nationally." Silbernagel has a bachelor's in sociology and Spanish from Gonzaga University and a master's in sociology from Washington State University. Her national and international experience includes social impact assessments and public involvement research. Established in 1990, EnviroIssues now has 10 employees. The company does facilitation and mediation, public and regulatory policy analysis, and public outreach and acceptance consulting.

Heather Gregg has been appointed to senior recruiting specialist at Software Staffing Solutions, a Mill Creek-based supplier of contract and permanent staff for the software industry. Gregg will match client companies and employees.
GLY Construction has hired Horst Coers as a project manager and Todd Karr as a project engineer. Horst has 20 years of experience in the construction industry and holds an electrical engineering degree from Bochum University in Germany. He is providing preconstruction services for a Microsoft campus project. Karr is providing engineering services to Northstream Development's Central Way Plaza office building in Kirkland.
Lease Crutcher Lewis recently hired and promoted several employees. For the company's largest job, the Microsoft Troon Campus in Redmond, it added Jim Harteau as a field superintendent, Pat Thompson as safety coordinator and Linda Chou as a project engineer. LCL also hired Diane Grauer as a project engineer for the enlargement and renovation of the former City Light Building in Seattle. In the company's Construction Management Division, it hired Mark Humphreys as a project engineer.
Robert Nyman has joined WinEstimator as its director of sales and marketing. In his now role, Nyman will direct all sales and marketing operations, manage dealer channels for domestic and international operations, develop plans for vertical market software product applications and lead an effort to increase the company's market share. Nyman holds an MBA from City University. WinEstimator is a developer of accounting and estimating software for the construction industry.

GA Design, an Eastside graphic design firm, has added a new suite to their studio at the Campus Office Park in Bellevue. American Corporate Identity has recognized GA Design with four identity projects which include the Microsoft Brain Share Logo, the Oldani Group identity, GA Design's identity system and Washington Mutual's 'Building a Legacy' logo.

The law firm Garvey, Schubert & Barer added Carl T. Crow as of counsel, and Anne-Marie Huizinga and Drake R. Kendermore as associates in the Seattle offices. Ronald J. Knox and Scott G. Warner have become principals in the firm. Crow will head the business taxation practice; Huizinga will focus on business, labor and employment law; and Kendermore will focus on litigation and intellectual property protection. Knox practices labor and employment law, and Warner represents high technology and other emerging growth companies.
Oridigm Corp., a Seattle-based biotechnology firm, is relocating to a new expanded research and development facility. Oridigm develops drugs for the treatment of certain cancers and other diseases associated with aging. Chiroscience Group, a pharmaceutical company affiliated with Darwin Discovery of Seattle, has announced research and licensing agreements with Bristol-Myers Squibb to do research on new cancer drugs. Chiroscience is based in Cambridge, Mass., and operates as Darwin Discovery and ChiroTech.
