Wayne Cox has been hired as director of business development for the Northwest group of Ford Graphics companies, including the operations in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Tigard and Bellevue. Cox will be developing a software program to track and bill jobs.

James E. Thompson has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Cymbolic Sciences, a manufacturer of digital imaging systems. Dr. Daniel Whittle has been promoted to vice president, product development and manufacturing. Dr. Horst Schaaf has been named vice president, advanced technology. Rob Tarnowski has been promoted to vice president, human resources. Cymbolic Sciences is a Delaware corporation with operations in Blaine, Canada, Singapore and the Netherlands.
Hunter S. Fulghum has joined Sparling's Technology Studio as a senior telecommunications project manager. His experience in telecommunications includes cable television, fiber optics, telephone, LAN and WAN systems, security and instrumentation design. He is a regular contributor of technology and communications articles to the Seattle Times and also writes for ABC New On-Line and the Discovery Channel On-Line.
Norm Petersen has joined Inca Engineers, Inc. of Bellevue as a program manager in the facilities management department. He will assume responsibility for building audits, cost estimating and control for construction and design projects. Petersen has developed computer systems for the monitoring and control of construction and bond funding for projects up to $350 million in scope. Debbie Wick has joined the firm as a project engineer for the transportation department. She spent four years as a civil engineer with the City of Bremerton and three years with C.B.I. Industries in the U.S. and in South Africa.

Hawkins & Company, a Seattle-based public relations and marketing communications agency, has hired Betsy Rogers as senior account manager. Rogers formerly worked at Kaufer Miller Communications in Bellevue, where she was the account manager for wireless and telecommunications accounts.
Eric Zimbelman has joined the Bellevue law firm of Vance, Romero & Montague as an associate. Zimbelman will focus his practice in the area of business litigation, particularly employment, real estate and intellectual property.
