Hunt Marketing Group, a Seattle-based independent direct-response advertising agency, has named Bruno Gralpois director of database and new-media strategies. Gralpois formerly worked at Seattle-based Visio Corp.
Bright Trading, Inc. is opening a new location in Seattle, the 17th location for the nationwide stock trading firm. Mark Van Wormer, a project engineer in the Bellevue office of W&H Pacific, has recently been named an associate. He has been with the firm for seven years, working on design for highway and bridge construction, subdivision, commercial site development and airport improvement projects. Norma Samis, controller for the Bellevue office, has also recently been named an associate. Currently, she is managing the conversion of the accounting information management system from Alpine to Harper & Shuman. Bill Nims has joined the Bellevue office as municipal grant manager. He has worked for the City of Issaquah for the last 13 years in grant funding development of public works transportation projects, and has prepared grant applications for other municipalities. Kenneth K. Watanabe has joined the Bellevue office as a project manager for development services, including residential and commercial development. He has more than 30 years of experience in these markets and in military, educational, city halls, police facilities and urban renewal projects. John R. Jorgensen has joined W&H Pacific's Bellevue office as a planner. He previously worked for the road division of King County as an engineering technician and for JGM as a CAD manager. Michal A. Wert has been named an associate in the Portland office of W&H Pacific. She is a transportation planner. Prior to joining the firm, Wert was the transportation development branch manager for the Oregon Department of Transportation. Karen L. Siegel, who joined the Portland office three years ago as a project administrator for the planning services group, has also been named an associate. Before joining the firm, Siegel spent 12 years as the assistant to the director of Kent's public works department. Kristina M. Rogers has joined the Bellevue office as an administrative assistant.

Steven C. McConnell has been appointed editor-in-chief of IEEE Software Magazine. McConnell is the chief software engineer at Construx Software, a Bellevue-based custom software development and related-services company.

Architect James Bibb has joined Thomas Hacker & Associates Architects of Portland. He was previously with Algren Olson and Sidow of Stockholm and also with Jensen Douglas Architects in southeast Alaska. He is currently at work on the Portland State University Urban Center project. Becca Cavell has joined the firm to work on the Multnomah County Branch Libraries project, which involves the renovation of ten branch libraries and design of three new libraries. She was previously a designer and construction administrator for the renovation of Portland City Hall. Kathleen Walsh has joined the firm as business development director, with over 15 years of experience in the biotechnology, architecture and engineering industries. She will serve as the president of the Portland Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services next year.
Tom Kearns has been hired as project manager for KPFF Consulting Engineers in Portland. He works in the facade consulting group, part of KPFF's structural division, where he produces shop drawings and detailing for projects. He specializes in stone facades, paving and interior veneer. Bret Heckenberg has been hired as a project engineer and project manager in the structural division. He is currently working on the Nike World Campus North Expansion Conference Center in Beaverton. Clinton Ambrose has joined the firm as a structural engineer. He is working on the Fox Tower, a hospital and a high school. John T. Mayer has also been hired as a structural engineer, and is at work on the assembly hall for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City. He is attending graduate school at Portland State University. Kerry Waters has been hired as a structural drafter. He is currently working on microelectric pedestals at Intel and is taking engineering classes at Portland State University.

John Cunningham and Russell Woodruff have joined Olympic Associates Co.'s project/construction management division. Cunningham is providing CM support to Microsoft's new Pinehurst Conference Center. He has over 18 years of industry-related experience. Woodruff is providing CM support for Microsoft's Troon office complex. He has 14 years of experience in construction.
