Moss Adams

Moss Adams recently acquired a controlling interest in The Durst Group of Redmond. The Durst Group resells business application software to middle-market enterprises. The Durst Group was merged into EnTech Solutions, a subsidiary of Moss Adams. Doug Durst was named president of EnTech, and Rob Wallace, director of enterprise solutions, transferred to EnTech as a lead project manager. Kevin Amoth, a shareholder in The Durst Group, will direct the development and e-commerce division.

Cushman & Wakefield

Cam Anderson, Chris Hughes, Brad Knowles and Jennifer Simpson have joined Cushman & Wakefield as associate brokers. Knowles specializes in industrial leasing and will work mostly in the Kent Valley. He was with Colliers Macaulay International. Hughes started with Cushman & Wakefield and worked for Norris, Beggs & Simpson before returning to focus on Eastside and Northend industrial high-tech buildings. Anderson started with CB Richard Ellis and will concentrate on the downtown Seattle office market. Simpson most recently worked for Northstream Development of Kirkland where she worked on the development and marketing of commercial projects.

Visio

Visio Corp. has promoted five senior managers to vice president and its corporate counsel to general counsel. The promotions are: Keith Collins, vice president of North America channel sales, is responsible for Visio's North American distribution channel. Philip Flynn is vice president and managing director of international operations. Tom Hull, vice president of corporate and direct sales, will continue to build the firm's North American corporate sales team and will also focus on global corporate opportunities. Patti McCann, vice president of worldwide development services, is located in Visio's Dublin office. Lori Pearce is vice president and general manager of the IT products group. Ken McGraw has been promoted to general counsel.

Tukwila Computer Round-Up

The city of Tukwila has planned The Computer Round-Up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., November 20 at the Boeing Oxbow Corporate Park facility located off South 102nd Street in Tukwila. Licensed Tukwila businesses may bring up to ten working or broken unwanted computer items to donate or sell for recycling. Tukwila hopes to demonstrate to businesses that much of their surplus computers has value and does not need to be landfilled.

Herrera

Linda Allen, Alex Murillo and Matthew Brennan recently joined the engineering group in the Seattle office of Herrera Environmental Consultants. Paul Chiechlowski has joined the firm as CAD manager. Allen is an environmental engineer specializing in water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities. She was most recently with the City of Bellevue Utilities Department. Murillo has joined the firm as civil engineer. He has worked in various capacities as an engineer for the Boeing Company, the City of Tacoma, and WSDOT. Brennan is an environmental engineer with expertise in surface water quality, hydrology, and stream ecology. Chiechlowski is past president and owner of a small underwater construction corporation.

Microsoft Project

The AGC of Washington Education Foundation is offering an intermediate class on Microsoft Project. It will cover how to enter recurring and split tasks, using and creating filters, and viewing and customizing built-in reports. Class will be held 6-9:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 3 in Tacoma. Cost is $155. Cartia

Cartia Inc., a Redmond-based firm which specializes in information mapping, has added Bruce Dahl to its executive management team. He will be vice president of sales. The company recently released ThemeScape, software that organizes large numbers of document files and web pages according to the information they contain. The entire collection can be organized onto a topographical map according to content, with documents about similar topics grouped closely together on the map, forming different regions of information. A single map can show information from thousands of documents.
