Redmond high tech executive Peter van Oppen has been named to the Seattle Branch Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. He is chairman and CEO of Advanced Digital Information, a manufacturer of storage products for network and workstation computers. Van Oppen succeeds Seattle attorney Constance Proctor. His three-year term begins Jan. 1.

Olympic Venture Partners, a Kirkland-based venture capital firm, has added William Miller as an investing partner. Miller formerly served on the founding management team for the Microsoft Network and also helped launch Safe Harbor Technology Corp. in Satsop, a firm which provides technical support on the Internet.

Market Place Design, a Portland-based print project management company, has added Traci Kezar as art director and Jody Hart as account executive. Kezar formerly served as creative director for Sonus. Hart formerly worked at Business Internet Solutions.
The former David Alexander Co. has changed its name to Alexander Commercial Real Estate. The company has also moved from the 1001 Fourth Avenue Plaza Building to the 29th floor of the Smith Tower. Alexander Commercial Real Estate specializes in services to health care, biopharmaceutical, financial service and high-technology industries.

The marketing honors continue pouring in for T. Jones and HAL Real Estate Developments, developers of the 224-unit Concord Condominium project going up at 2929 First Ave., in Seattle's Belltown. The firms have been selected to receive awards from the National Association of Homebuilders. They have won Silver and Regional awards for best sales office, signage, special promotion using computer virtual tours, color ad and overall advertising campaign. The Concord was one of the top five Silver Award recipients in the U.S., making it eligible for the Gold Award that will be announced during the homebuilders' meeting Jan. 15 in Dallas. Concord Marketing Director Cliff Bowman of Vancouver, B.C.-based Cliff Bowman & Associates was notified he will receive both Silver and Regional honors as marketing director of the year. Other members of the marketing team are Williams Marketing of Seattle, Robertson Pick Advertising of Vancouver, B.C., and HyperMedia Solutions of Toronto. Earlier this year, the Concord won four Gold Awards for marketing from the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties.
Rezworks, a Seattle e-commerce startup company specializing in reservations for the vacation property industry, is one of three finalists for Most Promising Company in the 1998 Software Alliance Industry Achievement Awards. Rezworks launched its first service -- VacationSpot.com -- in January, and now boasts 10,000 daily hits. In addition, Rezworks provides hotels with Web-based property marketing and management services. The firm was founded in September 1997 by former Microsoft executives Steve Murch and Greg Slyngstad. Microsoft acquired a minority interest in the firm in April.
Bellevue-based Indico Technologies Corp. holds the rights to the technology, manufacturing and sales of a radiation exposure measuring device known as Red Tag. Red Tag, approved by the FDA and the only product of its kind on the market, displays the amount of irradiation delivered to protect transplant patients from potentially fatal complications.
Morse McFadden Communications, a Kirkland-based public relations and marketing company, recently changed its name to Rolling Thunder Marketing. Ken Harper has been appointed chairman of the agency and will oversee operations in the new Portland office. The agency will also introduce corporate digital storytelling capabilities and has added affiliate Dana Atchley Productions in San Francisco; Crockett Design of Carlton, Ore., for electronic collateral and Web design; and RosenBrown Direct of Portland for direct marketing advertising in electronic media.
