Paul B. Taylor, a veteran in domestic and international real estate, has joined Stellar International as vice president of business development. He will handle acquisitions at home and abroad. Taylor is a former U.S. Army intelligence officer, who speaks several languages. He had been handling acquisitions for the State Teachers Retirement Fund of Ohio. Stellar is a Seattle-based firm whose principals are major participants in Pine Street Development in Seattle. Last year in Tacoma, the company bought the headquarters of the Frank Russell Co. Stellar also is a prominent urban developer in Sweden and has investments elsewhere in Europe and in various parts of the United States.
Microsoft's HomeAdvisor online real estate service has added five national lenders to its site. Bank One Corp., Citibank Mortgage, GreenPoint Financial Corp./Headlands Mortgage Co., American Home Mortgage LLC and North American Mortgage Co., have signed alliances with HomeAdvisor.
Kirt LeGrande has been promoted to assistant vice president and manager of information technologies at Bellevue's Charter Bank. LeGrande will be responsible for all technology-based systems including computer hardware and software and network and mainframe connections.
Miller Nash recently added D. William Toone as partner and Valerie du Laney as an associate in its Seattle law office. Toone, who formerly served as corporate counsel for Cox Laboratories Inc., will focus his practice in the areas of intellectual property licensing and infringement litigation. Du Laney will focus her practice in the areas of trademarks, intellectual property licensing, litigation and business matters.

InterWest Bank, a subsidiary of Oak Harbor-based InterWest Bancorp Inc., has launched an online bank, InterWest Online. The banking service will pilot the TransPoint Internet bill delivery and payment system, enabling customers to receive and pay bills electronically.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Camp Dresser & McKee, a global consulting, engineering, construction and operations firm, has merged with AGI Technologies of Bellevue. AGI is an engineering and environmental consulting firm. The merger is intended to strengthen both companies in both the private-sector and public works markets in the Northwest, said AGI President John Newby.

Emerald Solutions, Inc., a Portland-based provider of project-based Internet and information technology consulting services, appointed Robert Caplan as director of information technology. Caplan will manage technology infrastructure and direct project planning and execution for the department. Emerald intends to seek an IPO within the next 24 months.
WHaM Communications announced it is a finalist for a Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvil Award. It is one of three finalists in the marketing consumer services category for its work with HomeGrocer.com. WHaM was acquired earlier this month by Edelman Worldwide.
