DDB, an advertising agency, announced the following promotions in its Seattle office: Scott Manning, vice president/director of account management; Teri Bauer, media supervisor; Heather Taylor, broadcast supervisor in optimum media; Christa Patchen, account supervisor in the account management department; Ann Marie Ricard, public relations account supervisor; Nancy Gardner, public relations senior account executive in the emerging technologies group; Sunny Lauritzen public relations senior account supervisor in the emerging technologies group; Ryan Mendenhall, media manager; and Waverly Hilbert, account executive on the agency's Holland America account management team.
RealNetworks, a Seattle-based provider of streaming video on the Internet, announced that Richard Wolpert will be joining the company's executive team as strategic adviser, focusing on a range of emerging technologies. Wolpert, who formerly served as president of Disney Online, has more than 15 years of experience in the technology arena and has created and led several Internet and entertainment companies. He will work in several areas, including digital music distribution and wireless multimedia delivery.

Digeo Broadband, a Kirkland-based provider of interactive television and other broadband services, announced that Carter Maguire has joined the company as vice president of sales. Maguire will lead Digeo's sales organization in expanding MSO cable system distribution of the company's upcoming interactive TV and PC portal services. Maguire comes to the company from Turner Network Sales where he served more than 11 years, most recently as executive vice president.
PaymentOnline, a Seattle-based provider of e-commerce solutions, recently announced the release of SecureGate, a new service that enables businesses to accept credit card payments quickly and securely over the Internet. Under development since the company's inception in 1997, the SecureGate service allows online businesses to authorize, process and manage Internet-based credit card transactions in real-time through an automated system.

Carpoint.com, the MicrosoftNetwork online automotive service, announced that Ruth D'Souza has been named general manager of Carpoint.ca, the Canadian version of Carpoint.com. As part of the MSN.CA network, the Carpoint.ca auto channel reaches 3.5 million Canadian users each month. D'Souza will oversee all business aspects of the Carpoint.ca online automotive service, including developing and managing strategic business relationships and developing business opportunities, product design, consumer and industry marketing, and dealer recruitment.
Qpass, a Seattle-based provider of digital commerce services, announced the promotion of three members of its executive management team. Sterling Wilson, previously chief financial officer and senior vice president of operations, has been promoted to chief operating officer. Scott Mahan, former vice president of finance and administration, has been appointed chief financial officer and VP, administration. Robin Mentzinger, formerly human resources director, has been named to the newly created position of vice president, human resources.
CantaMetrix, a Bellevue-based business-to-business technology company, has appointed William Koenig as CEO and executive staff. Koenig will permanently fill the post held since launch by CantaMetrix co-Founder John Castle. In addition, Koenig has announced the addition of three executives to newly created positions: Christine Reed has been named VP, marketing; Ridge Nye has been appointed VP sales & business development; Jon Carlson has assumed the position of VP of development and operations; and Martin Westermann is the new managing director of European operations.
