Group Mackenzie announced the hiring of five employees in their Washington offices. Megan Tremain , architectural intern, Joshua McDowell , structural engineer, and Barbara Gipple , administrator, have been added in the Seattle office. Allen Kabanuk , architectural intern and Rita Planchon , administrator, joined the Vancouver office. Additionally, Group Mackenzie has added 18 employees to the Portland office, in all disciplines including, architecture, interior design, structural engineering, land-use planning, transportation engineering and civil engineering.

The Bremerton office of Parametrix recently hired Lara Linde as a hydrogeologist. Linde has experience conducting and writing asbestos and lead surveys of large commercial buildings as well as residential dwellings. Linde is working on the Charleston Beach Road Brownfields project and Sinclair Inlet Restoration for the city of Bremerton and the demolition of various buildings project at Subbase Bangor for Chugach-Kennedy. Joy Angsioco joined the Bremerton office's engineering services group where she will focus on water/wastewater projects. Angsioco brings ten years of experience specializing in project management, construction inspection, gas pipeline distribution and high pressure systems and facilities. She is working as project manager/engineer on the Salishan HOPE IV Redevelopment in Tacoma, and the Cedar Heights Junior High School Sidewalk Improvements in Port Orchard.
Mahlum Architects announced four promotions to associate in the Seattle office. All will focus on the design of educational projects. David Mount has worked on the Franklin Elementary School, The Truman Center, and the Seminar II building at Evergreen State College. JoAnn Wilcox was on the team that designed the Nathan Hale High School Performing Arts Center, as well as the Cleveland High School renovation and the replacement of Coe Elementary and a master plan for Kingston High School. Dwane Epp has worked on a variety of projects for the Edmonds School District and the Washington Middle School in Olympia. Marna Abrams is a marketing specialist who focuses on educational facilities and corporate-wide initiatives for Mahlum offices in both Seattle and Portland.

The instrumentation and controls group of Brown and Caldwell recently added Wayne Strand, David Wagner and Karl Herrick to its Seattle office. Strand is a principal engineer with 20 years experience in controls systems. Wagner and Herrick joined the group as electrical and process control engineers. Scott Anschell joined the business consulting practice group and has experience with risk analysis and economic analysis on hydroelectric projects. Scott Tobiason was hired as a principal engineer for the water resources group. He has experience in airport water quality issues.
Callison added three health care design staff members. They are facility designer Jae Kim, associate principal; and design managers Bill Hutchinson and Jason McCleary, also associates. Kim has nine years of experience designing health care facilities worldwide. Hutchinson has 25 years experience in design and management of complex health care and research facilities, including Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland. McCleary's experience includes managing design, construction documentation and construction administration. His prior projects include Skagit Valley Hospital and Good Samaritan Cancer Center in Puyallup.
James L. Zimmerman Jr. has joined Wilbur Smith Associates as senior vice president and group manager of the western group based in Seattle. He will be responsible for meeting the group's 2005 net sales and revenue targets.
